Compensation: Rhode Island - $44.02 - $48.48 per hour

Maryland: $43.54 - $47.95 per hour

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Technical Knowledge, Years of Related Experience, Skills, Licenses, and Systems Experience
  • Experience: 5 years of underwriting experience focusing on Conventional and FHA DE loans is required with optional knowledge of VA LAPP, VA SAR designation.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, eagerness to learn and excel working in a fast-paced team environment. Ability to prioritize tasks, delegating when appropriate. Must have a proven track record of exceptional customer service, demonstrated ability to provide leadership to teammates in team leader's absence, and commitment to honoring Embrace's values in the workplace
  • License: Active FHA DE Certification
  • Language: Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Systems:Proficiency navigating and using Outlook, Word and Excel in order to attend virtual meetings, create appointments with clients and record or manipulate customer data.


  • TRAINING REQUIRED

    Participate in additional training on sales, technology, products, procedures and pricing on an ongoing basis. Participate in sales leadership and FAQ calls. Complete annual training as required by company policy and law on an annual basis in a timely manner.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Underwrite residential mortgage loans in accordance with Conventional / FHA DE and internal guidelines ensuring compliance with company and investor standards.


    • Analyze files to ensure loans meet all program and product requirements for designated investor/agency.


    • Review and analyze the loan application and supporting documents in order to determine if the borrower is capable of paying back the mortgage.


    • Request additional information as needed on all documents to help determine loan risk.


    • Counsel sales on potential counteroffers and communicating loan decisions to sales teams.


    • Meet all departmental goals for productivity, quality, corporate service level commitments and adherence to all fair lending practices.


    • Remain current on all product/investor guidelines as well as company policies and procedures.


    • Effectively manage daily and weekly/monthly review goals.


    • Communicate and document reasons for approval or rejection of loans so clients and loan officers are well-informed of decisions.


    SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES

    Attend and participate in all Monthly Awards Ceremonies, Corporate Gatherings (including travelling to headquarters quarterly) , Sales Calls & Training Events. Read all newsletters and bulletins to remain current on corporate policies, procedures, and developments.

    MEASUREMENTS OF SUCCESS

    Ability to do equations and arithmetic in order to avoid costly economic errors on behalf of Embrace Home Loans.

    Analyze and collect borrower financial information, documentation and records in order to identify and prevent financial risks to the company.

    Manage loan pipeline to ensure that deadlines are met on or before due date in order to keep the pipeline flowing properly.

    Work alongside internal team members such as loan originators, loan processors and closing officers to provide a constant flow of communication regarding the loan application status.

    Comply with federal regulations and Fair Housing Act requirements, in addition to Embrace Home Loans' specific guidelines and practices.
