Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Property Underwriting Specialist.
Reporting to the Vice President National Property Eastern Region, you will establish and foster broker and customer relationships while underwriting a profitable renewal portfolio of complex, large property customers with revenues exceeding $300M. Supported by a dedicated local team of Underwriting Associates, Risk Engineers, Multinational Service Specialists, and an industry leading claims team, this is your opportunity to join a growing and highly successful organization.

Job Qualifications
What you bring to the table
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area
AND
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
Experience working in a team environment
Strong business acumen and communication skills.
Fluent in French and English
Preferred:
Minimum of 10 years demonstrated underwriting or broking experience within Property
Completed or pursuing CIP designation
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office skills
CAT modelling experience
Cross-Border and International experience
Non-standard / Manuscript wording experience
Primary / Excess experience
Specialized Technical Risks experience
Strong presentation skills
Fluency in both spoken and written English is required to facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders outside Quebec.

What you will do
- Naviguer dans des structures de programmes complexes et administrer ces comptes.
- Vous dvelopperez davantage vos comptences dans les domaines des risques techniques et la gestion des catastrophes.
- Dmontrer de solides comptences en prise de dcision et la capacit trouver des solutions de souscription cratives.
- Souscrire un portefeuille complexe d'assurances des biens, y compris la modlisation des exposs de catastrophes naturelles.
- Utiliser et valuer des donnes travers des outils de souscription, y compris la modlisation des catastrophes naturelles.
- Prparer des soumissions, structurer des programmes et offrir des propositions conformes aux directives.
- Interprter les rapports d'ingnierie des risques et les recommandations associes.
- Assurer la certitude contractuelle des soumissions et des libells de polices mis.
- Saisir et maintenir les informations sur les risques dans nos systmes internes pour garantir l'intgrit des donnes.
- tablir des relations de confiance avec les courtiers et les clients dans divers segments de l'industrie.
- Constituer un portefeuille de nouvelles affaires cibles avec des partenaires de courtage cls.
- Collaborer et encourager l'implication des domaines fonctionnels dans le processus de souscription (ingnierie des risques, sinistres, actuariat, finance, distribution et autres lignes d'affaire).
- Fournir des conseils techniques, une assistance et une formation aux souscripteurs de niveau infrieur. Agir en tant que mentor.
