Summary

KCIT's Enterprise Communications team is seeking 3 IT Production Engineers who will be responsible for replacing Microsoft Teams Shared Devices and POTS lines in King County's 170+ office locations. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of VoIP & POTS technology including the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve level 2 and level 3 issues. This includes but is not limited to configuring, installing, maintaining and repairing devices, automatic ring down lines, duress systems, paging systems, notifications systems and VoIP Analog Gateways.

Job Duties

  • Serves as the liaison to the department to coordinate and exchange information to carry out objectives and goals.
  • Provides direct technical support and coordination on telecommunication phone systems and equipment.
  • Provides technical services to daily operational control of large complex voice, data telecommunications and LAN/WAN system with technical services.
  • Performs analysis and evaluation of telecom requirements and make recommendations to resolve performance/operating problems.
  • Resolve customer issues, troubleshoot equipment, and check the device for proper operation.
  • Installs, troubleshoot, tests and maintains all telecom equipment
  • Installs and supports door entry systems for secure facilities, paging systems, duress systems, call notification systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, resolve customer's issues, and check devices for proper operations.
  • Conduct and maintains inventory of telecommunication devices and equipment.
  • Provide support to telecommunication projects, which include planning, execution and close out.
  • Manage telecom ticket systems to resolve incidents and service requests within the service level agreement.
  • Maintains, update documents and reports, identifies and notifies users of problems and maintains telephone usage reports.
  • Performs analysis of legacy circuits for disconnect or replacement.
  • Use of TMS/Connect (Telesoft System) for telco circuit new orders, existing circuit repairs, circuit billing and vendor service ticket generation, tracking and billing. PTA administration also.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

  • 5 Years of experience as a Telecommunications Specialist.
  • 5 Years of experience in telephony
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a strong team player who can build partnerships with others with also the ability to work independently
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally to obtain information or solve problems in support of the team's goals
  • Physical and Environment Work Requirements:
  • Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
  • Carry and lift items that weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
  • Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers with appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Use hand tools
Desirable Qualifications:
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Microsoft Certifications: SharePoint, Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Office 365, and Dynamics
  • HIPAA & CJIS
