Business Systems Analyst
12+Month Contract

Responsibilities:

• The Business Analyst is responsible for identifying business needs and determining technology solutions to address them.
• They act as a liaison between stakeholders (including internal/external customers, IT teams, and management) to gather and analyze requirements, document processes, and ensure that solutions meet business goals.
• The Business Analyst will help define project scope, priorities, and deliverables, while also managing risk and ensuring that the final product aligns with user expectations and organizational objectives.
• They will also participate in testing, training, and implementing systems or processes.

Skill/Experience/Education

Mandatory Skills

• Requirements Gathering: Ability to effectively gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders.
• Process Mapping: Skilled in documenting and analyzing business processes using tools like BPMN or flowcharts.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with different levels of stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Proficient in identifying business challenges and recommending solutions.
• Data Analysis: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and use data-driven insights to make informed decisions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear documentation and presenting findings.
• Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations, strategy, and the industry to align solutions with company goals.
• Requirements Documentation: Proficiency in creating functional specifications, user stories, and other project documentation.
• Change Management: Ability to support and guide teams through organizational changes associated with new systems or processes.
• Testing & Validation: Experience in validating and testing solutions to ensure they meet business requirements.

Desired Skills

• Project Management: Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Technology Understanding: Knowledge of IT systems, databases, and software tools relevant to the organization.
• Agile/Scrum Methodology: Experience working in Agile environments and with Scrum teams.
• Stakeholder Negotiation: Ability to balance competing demands and negotiate compromises between business needs and technical feasibility.
• Risk Management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks in business processes or systems.
• Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and active listening skills.
• Testing Knowledge: Experience with UAT (User Acceptance Testing) or other testing methodologies.
• Industry-Specific Knowledge: Familiarity with the transportation & logistics industry to understand sector-specific challenges.
• SQL/Database Querying: Ability to write basic SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
