Description:

We are looking for an experienced US Operations Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation as well as development of internal control policies and the streamlining of accounting procedures and processes.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage all accounting operations including GL, O2C, P2P, cost accounting, fixed assets management, payroll and other accounting areas.
  • Manage the accounting teams to ensure optimal productivity and balanced work-to-life schedules and environments.
  • Simplify, standardize, and automate processes and procedures to streamline and automate the information workflow and manual processes.
  • Ensure accounting processes and systems are robust and fit for purpose to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Support other departments to streamline their processes and information that flows into the accounting department.
  • Ensure the month-end financial close process is efficient and effective to deliver a timely and accurate 5-business day close.
  • Publish the financial statements with a full understanding of the results ,which include:
  • Legal entity financial statements (multi-entity BS, IS, CF and support schedules).
  • Business line financial statements (including intercompany eliminations).
  • In coordination with the FP&A team, ensure month-end results analysis is accurate and complete.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Ensure detailed SOPs for all accounting functions are developed, reviewed and adequately documented.
  • Create training videos or manuals for key accounting procedures to improve onboarding and increase the adherence and effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Ensure internal controls are strictly adhered to across the accounting function.
  • Additional Controller duties as necessary.

Qualifications and Education:
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, or Finance required. CPA designation preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a Controller is an agricultural or manufacturing environment is required.
  • High level of U.S. GAAP knowledge is essential.
  • Strong level of Microsoft Office tools expertise, including Excel modeling, required.
  • Experience in engaging and motivating teams, and leading change management projects.
  • Experience in systems and process optimization projects. AI process improvement experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to complete projects on a timely and accurate.
  • Proven ability to turn operational and financial data into easy-to-understand actionable information to drive business performance.
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational, personal and analytical skills.
