What you'll do...

As a Distinguished Architect - Omni Services Engineering, you will lead the strategy, architecture, and design of cutting-edge Omni-channel commerce solutions that power seamless customer experiences across in-store, online, mobile, and emerging channels. You will be at the forefront of scalability, resilience, and performance, ensuring our microservices, cloud-native, and API-first approach meets the evolving needs of a global retail business. This role requires a visionary technology leader with deep experience in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, AI/ML-driven personalization, and event-driven architectures. You will partner with engineering, product, and business teams to drive innovation, establish best practices, and influence the technology roadmap at the enterprise level.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and design best-in-class Omni-channel microservices to support a frictionless shopping experience across digital and physical retail touchpoints. Define and implement high-scale, low-latency, and highly available cloud-native solutions in AWS/GCP/Azure with a multi-region, event-driven architecture. Lead the adoption of domain-driven design (DDD), event sourcing, and CQRS for high-performance transactional services. Develop and enforce best practices for API-first, headless commerce, GraphQL, gRPC, and event-driven integrations. Drive the AI/ML and personalization strategy to optimize user experiences across multiple channels. Collaborate with engineering leaders, product managers, and business executives to align technical vision with business goals. Influence and drive the technology modernization strategy, including the adoption of serverless, Kubernetes, and edge computing in retail experiences. Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards while optimizing system performance and reliability. Mentor and develop principal engineers, senior architects, and engineering teams on best practices in scalable and resilient system design. Engage in industry forums, technology conferences, and patent filings to represent and advance the company's innovation agenda.

Required Qualifications 15+ years of experience in software architecture and engineering leadership, with a focus on Omni-channel commerce, retail tech, or large-scale distributed systems. Expert in microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed computing.

Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, and serverless architectures. Strong experience in API gateway design, GraphQL, RESTful services, gRPC, and asynchronous messaging (Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ). Proven track record in implementing AI/ML-powered recommendations, search, and personalization engines. Experience with high-scale transactional systems, event sourcing, and real-time data streaming. Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java, Go, Python, TypeScript, or Rust). Strong leadership in driving DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, observability, and performance optimization. Ability to influence senior executives, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders. Passion for mentoring and growing engineering talent. Preferred Qualifications Experience in headless commerce platforms, MACH (Microservices-based, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless) architecture. Familiarity with generative AI, LLMs, and AI-powered customer experiences. Contributions to open-source projects, patents, or technical publications. Strong understanding of data governance, security frameworks, and retail compliance standards.

The annual salary range for this position is $169,000.00-$338,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
