Project Overview:
As a UX Researcher on the Sheets team, you will conduct independent research, analyze real user behavior and work with Designers, Product Managers and Engineers to improve Sheets for business users.
Your research will be a key driver in making Sheets projects successful, and you are encouraged to find new opportunities for improving Sheets UX.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities:
Work closely with executive stakeholders to understand top of mind questions and define and scope research to answer those questions
Define the roadmap of research for foundational and strategic work across one of Sheets' product pillars
Collaborate with various functions & multiple teams across PA's (e.g., Drive, Docs)
Mandatory Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, related field.
5+ years experience as a User Experience Researcher.
Understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
Breadth of experience in qualitative research methodology, and product strategy.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders from different disciplines and levels.
Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
Evidence of strategic-level impact.
Excited about working on large scale products, helping a very diverse user base.
Understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:
Mixed methods research (quantitative and qualitative)
Previous experience working on growth or go-to-market research strategies
Demonstrated track record of strategic and impactful research contributions, and research work with a long shelf life
Experience executing and shaping research programs in ambiguous spaces with the ability to work independently
Deep working knowledge and demonstrated practice of a wide range of research methodologies, their strengths/weaknesses, and when to apply them in the product life cycle
Comfort with agile and adaptable research approaches
Excellent track record on working with other researchers, designers, engineers, and other team members
Excellent written and spoken communication
