A Day in the Life
The Vendor Compliance Manager is responsible for delivering excellent customer service to our domestic and international customer base. They lead the team to meet and exceed customer expectations by ensuring that all orders arrive on time, meeting the customer's compliance expectations, and in the most cost-effective manner. The ideal person will be able to create partnerships with third party carriers to ensure that shipments arrive on time and that we have the appropriate capacity at peak times and unique circumstances both from a domestic and international standpoint for e-commerce and wholesale orders.

They must have effective communication and interaction across all levels of the organization. They must be comfortable working independently but also embrace collaboration and working within a dynamic, positive team while having a customer service outlook.

What You'll Bring to the Role:
- Extensive knowledge with Retail Compliance Guidelines, Offset Expense and SSC-128 barcode label format their requirements per Vendor business practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be a high-compliant and accurate individual
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to quickly assimilate an understanding of business operations with experience in developing and improving internal compliance standards
- Has the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
- Trustworthy and moral character (we use pre-employment background & drug tests)
The Must Haves:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or related field
- 5+ years of client/customer services and vendor compliance experience in warehouse or transportation environment
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) experience is a must
- Intermediate experience with ERP systems and 3rd party Portals
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook and Excel
- Must have physical ability to carry out essential job functions, including but not limited to, the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., walking and standing for extended periods, climbing ladders/stairs, ok with heights in elevated areas and tolerating conditions such as dust, dirt, noise, odors, heat, cold, etc.
Things You Will be Doing
Shipping, Transportation and Compliance
- Ensure delivery to customers on time and intact by working with a variety of LTL and small parcel carriers.
- Ensure appropriate capacity is available during peak times, along with unique circumstances that occur.
- Establishes company shipping and transportation policies and ensures compliance with DOT regulations.
- Works with internal and cross functional teams involved in supporting the shipping of domestic and international orders.
- Establishes and implements effective logistics programs and processes to ensure continued success and Client satisfaction.
- Ensures all vendor compliance parameters are met for all retailers NRI ships to and bring best practice implementation and process recommendations
Provides guidance to all direct reports in the areas of Shipping, Transportation and Compliance
- Trains, develops and mentors direct reports.
- Sets expectations and facilitates resolutions of any gaps.
- Participates in performance review process and approves any wage increases.
- Plans, coordinates, and authorizes all annual vacations for direct reports, ensuring proper coverage.
Freight Analysis
- Collect logistics data to analyze, correlate, index and forecast logistics needs.
- Analyze shipping data and identify strategies for improving the value proposition for our Clients.
