JOB OVERVIEW

This position is responsible for proactively managing relationships and performance with our strategic suppliers, which may include direct suppliers (such as vehicle courtesy dealers, truck dealers, connected vehicle, truck upfitters, transport, maintenance networks, national accounts, independent repair shops, service dealers, glass, roadside, rental, remarketing, collision repair), and/or indirect suppliers. Through supporting strategic initiatives and the creation of tools to monitor and improve vendor performance, they will support positioning of Wheels as a leader in the fleet management industry. This position will oversee and manage the supply chain for several categories to ensure it is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible, while ensuring that suppliers and manufacturers are maintaining the desired performance expectations related to their services and are engaged in ethical business practices. They focus on developing and maintaining long-term strategic partnerships with suppliers who can help us meet financial and customer satisfaction goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Vendor Management
    • Manage assigned categories - support the organizational needs for those categories.
    • Establish and maintain long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
    • Determine key vendor requirements and build framework to monitor vendor's performance in these areas.
    • Analyze performance and hold annual business reviews with key partners and engage in continuous improvement activities to drive performance.
    • Support the negotiation of contracts as required for engagements.
    • Monitor industry events and determine impending impact on fulfilling client needs (e.g., auto workers strike, part shortages, recalls, class action settlements), and communicate such events to affected personnel at Wheels.
    • Create initiatives with vendor partners that support and improve our client value proposition.
    • Identify and manage risks within the supply chain.
    • Identify vendor coverage gaps and ensure team is focused on closing the gaps.
    • Lead the investigation and resolution of supplier issues across Wheels and with the suppliers, which may include quality, delivery, customer service, or invoice issues, to work towards resolution.
    • Understand suppliers' capabilities and limitations, as well as Wheels' and our clients' expectations, and work with suppliers to enable growth in our partnerships.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve internal systems and processes.
    • Identify opportunities with vendors to streamline our processes and provide operational improvement.
    • Lead / support continuous improvement exercises, such as Kaizen events with Wheels stakeholders and suppliers to streamline and/or improve processes and systems.
    • Provide expertise to IT in development and changes to all related applications and reporting.
    • Perform statistical analyses to drive business intelligent decisions.
  • Communication
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders in building initiatives to leverage best performing vendors.
    • Interact and present to clients demonstrating the value of our vendor management practices.
    • Provide support to other departments serving as an escalation point for issues or opportunities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree with 6-8 years related Business experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years procurement and/or vendor management experience
  • Supply chain certification (preferred)
  • Relationship management experience
  • Results oriented to drive financial results and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage supplier performance.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other quality improvement experience preferred.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS, PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment:This position is in Georgia or Illinois and operates in a professional office environment
Position Type/Standard Schedule:This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
Travel: No Travel required for this position.
Physical Demands:Speak, hear, and see, and to use hand and fingers for computer keyboard and phone. Sit or stand for extended periods of time. Reach above head to pull paper attachments.

Pay Range:
$95,500-$133,700
The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
