Acorn Hill Animal Hospital is seeking a veterinary leader to join our practice as a Medical Director.

Acorn Hill Animal Hospital, a trusted provider of small animal medicine in San Antonio, is seeking a Veterinary Medical Director to guide our practice and mentor our talented team of associate veterinarians and support staff.

About the Role
  • This veterinary leadership role combines clinical excellence with veterinary practice management responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to:
    • Lead and mentor a team of associate veterinarians and support staff to deliver outstanding care.
    • Establish and uphold medical protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Collaborate with your Practice Manager and Regional Operations Manager to set hospital goals, develop strategies, and shape the future of Acorn Hill.
    • Build a positive hospital team culture that emphasizes collaboration, professional growth, and work-life balance.

Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university, or equivalent
  • Active licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Texas (or eligibility).
  • 5+ years of practice experience preferred
  • Positive and effective leadership experience
  • A strong ability to manage staff and outcomes with emotional intelligence
  • Commitment to the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
  • Experience effectively delegating tasks and achieving results with practice team members
