Description

Innovetive Petcare is now hiring for a full-time Inventory Control Manager to join our team in Austin, Texas!
This is a hybrid position with occasional travel expected.

Overview and Responsibilities

The Inventory Control Manager will develop and train staff on inventory management and procurement programs that address operational and accounting requirements. The candidate will work directly with the CEO and COO. The role requires close collaboration with our suppliers, practices, finance, and operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement inventory management policies and procedures to ensure assets are appropriately accounted for and safeguarded.
  • Establish guidelines for procurement of inventory and appropriate stock value levels.
  • Develop a training program and train staff in inventory management procedures.
  • Implement and oversee internal audit function to ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to and verify inventory accuracy.
  • Oversee quarterly inventory counts, ensuring timely and accurate clinic inventory reports.
  • Support practices with identifying and resolving count and cost.
  • Provide guidance for design, set-up, and management of inventory SKUs in Practice Management Systems, including unit measures, per-unit costs, and descriptors.
  • Develop a product & service cost listing for veterinary practices.
  • Ensure that practices adjust their selling prices based on vendor price changes.
  • Review inventory pricing to ensure SKU costs are accurate and markups are appropriate.
  • Ensure that all inventory practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including those related to controlled substances and veterinary pharmaceuticals.


Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications in inventory management or veterinary pharmaceuticals are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience with inventory management in the veterinary industry.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and regulatory requirements in the veterinary field.
  • Multi-location experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and data analytics skills.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively with other departments.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working with inventory management and practice management systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.


Work Conditions
  • Environment: Primarily office-based with periodic visits to veterinary facilities.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move inventory items and stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Travel: Occasional travel to veterinary facilities.
