Description:

The Vice President of Tax and Output Processing is responsible for overseeing the fulfillment functions, including statements, confirmations, tax production, and service correspondence for products offered by the broker-dealer, such as Brokerage, Managed Accounts, RiverSource, Certificates, and Bank. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations while maximizing operational efficiency and reducing operational risk. The VP will lead a team in preparing and filing tax packages, generating monthly and quarterly statements, and managing other correspondence owned by the clearing broker-dealer. Additionally, the VP will collaborate with internal and external colleagues to ensure accurate withholding and reporting processes, identify opportunities to streamline operations, drive digital adoption, and maintain high levels of productivity and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team with diverse roles and responsibilities, ensuring effective fulfillment delivery of statements, client confirmations, tax documents, and other communications to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Provide strategic and thought leadership to the business on client correspondence, focusing on industry trends in digital adoption, ensuring strong supervision, compliance with reporting standards, and managing overall compliance.
  • Collaborate across the enterprise on key projects and initiatives as the point of contact for RiverSource, Bank, and other product lines.
  • Address and communicate the impact of production incidents to ensure root cause is determined and permanent solutions are documented and implemented.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Product, GCO, Compliance, and Technology on the broader clearing firm strategy.
  • Direct the design, development, and support of client fulfillment and tax-related dashboards, reports, and self-service analytical portals.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee vendor management of tools and resources for the business.


Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of work experience in financial services, specifically with client fulfillment, tax compliance, and reporting, preferably within an introducing or clearing broker-dealer.
  • Active FINRA Series 7 and 24 or ability to obtain within 120 days.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong financial acumen with a proven track record of driving change. Experience working with finance, managing business and project budgets, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic projects across the enterprise. Thought leadership experience, including the ability to articulate the story that the data is telling.
  • Established strong working relationships with executives across the organization. Strong communication skills with the ability to build and explain complex analyses, concepts, and results in simple, understandable ways.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong business knowledge within financial services, with significant experience in client fulfillment, tax compliance, and analytics.
  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business; appreciation for strategy, processes, and capabilities, utilizing data, technologies, and governance.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate the broad enterprise implications of client correspondence and tax data, acting as a champion and key leader of client communications and tax strategy.
  • Highly effective communication and negotiation skills. Known for building and fostering strong relationships with business partners and has the ability to influence upward and across a large organization.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $157,400 - $212,600 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
