SCO Family of Services is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Facilities and Business Operations to join our leadership team. This key executive role will provide strategic oversight and direction for the organization's facilities management, capital projects, real estate operations, and business support services. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for supporting mission-driven work that strengthens children, families, and individuals across our communities.
JOB FAMILY: ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Defines administrative department or program's annual goals, and allocates staff roles and budget to achieve agreed upon annual targeted metrics
2. Sets individual performance objectives with executive manager, and communicates his/her objective with direct reports to clarify his/her focus for the year
3. Provides ongoing supervision and coaching to management staff to ensure optimal team performance and delivery of administrative department or program goals
4. Manages the Performance and Talent Management initiatives within an administration department or program to support SCO's long-term workforce planning activities
5. Engages with multiple external stakeholders to promote SCO and his/her administrative department's or program's value and contribution to SCO's mission
6. Works with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and delivery of services against established stakeholder requirements
JOB TITLE: ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. The Vice President of Facilities and Business Operations will work collaboratively with leadership to fulfill the facilities and real estate needs for each region in which SCO Family of Services has commercial and residential sites.
2. Ensures existing assets are properly maintained and optimized through a robust facility condition assessment and facility infrastructure capital plan.
3. Collaborates with peers in other departments and service lines to develop and maintain appropriate policies for development and maintenance of safe, efficient, and effective facilities throughout the SCO commercial and residential sites.
4. Ensures all aspects of capital project delivery are well managed, including development of capital plans, standards for design and project delivery, compliance with accreditation standards, and/ or other applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.
5. Leads the acquisition, divestiture, leasing, and negotiations for real estate throughout the region, consistent with system policies and best practices.
6. Actively participates with service line leadership to develop and understand the strategic plan for the service line and programs, then ensures the facilities and real estate portfolio supports the plan.
7. Recommends optimal staffing structure and resourcing for all efforts including employee and outsourced solutions.
8. Collaborates with senior leaders to identify needs, prioritize work and spending, and summarize needs to the organization. Prepares and shares regular updates with operational and organizational leaders.
9. Accountable for the successful deployment of environmental safety initiatives and directs leaders and staff in the implementation of an environmental safety program which ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, other accreditation and regulatory agencies with the objective to minimize or eliminate workplace hazards. Directs leaders and staff engaged in deployment, coordination, training, and implementation of disaster preparedness policies and procedures.
10. Manages Agency insurance policies, including Professional liability, Directors' and Officers' liability, fleet policy, property and burglary, boiler insurance etc.
11. Executive level management of the agency fleet of vehicles.
12. Executive level management of food service contracts
13. Serves as a member of the Executive Council and adheres to the charter
14. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Organization Development or related field
Previous experience in managing education, health or human services facilities and properties program
Seven plus years of experience within a nonprofit environment
Demonstrated knowledge about major culture groups and sensitivity to socioeconomic characteristics of the SCO client populations
Skills in Microsoft Excel and Word software and use of data systems
The salary range for the position is $130,000 to $140,000 commensurate with experience
