Job Description:
- Oversight and management of the Finance and Accounting Office.
- Provide leadership and overall direction in the development and management of sound fiscal policies, record keeping, and internal processes as required by law and/or generally accepted accounting principles. Ensure validity of the College's financial statements and reporting
- Oversight of an independent outside audit of internal controls, policies and procedures of the Finance and Accounting Office.
- Direct the financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, and investment activities of the College.
- Provide financial input to major policy decisions that go before the Board of Trustees of the College.
- Provide a College-wide budget, review budget proposals, and manage the allocation of funds among various College constituencies.
- Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, and/or reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Manage College banking relationships, evaluate needs for procurement of funds, and recommend vehicles for investment of any surpluses.
- Serve as a member of the President's Cabinet
- Advise the President on matters of strategic planning, and long-range budgeting applicable to the College's financial matters
- Provide for current and long-term financial planning and programs consistent with the goals and objectives established by the President and the Board of Trustees.
Requirements:
Required:
- Master's degree
- 5-7 years of experience in Higher Education (candidate with industry background will be considered)
- Excellent organization, interpersonal, conflict resolution and oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of computerized accounting
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Skill in budget preparation
- Experience in payroll systems
- Ability to work with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Enthusiasm and ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change.
- Master's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- CPA License
