Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support CMH's mission, vision and values through the leadership of the primary care and specialty practices.
  • Provides, both, strategic and operational leadership for all primary and specialty practices.
  • Develops business plans for existing and future practices to build current practice volumes as well as grow number of providers in each service line.
  • Provides leadership for the recruitment, onboarding the development of physicians and APPs.
  • Leads providers to annual budget goals through the development of a dashboard that uses Key Performance Indicators (KPI) related to clinical care and financial performance.
  • Responsible for the recruitment and training of all clinical workflow staff necessary to maintain an efficient as well as growth-oriented provider practice. (ie: triage of patient access, chart prep, clinical support of patient during care, management of all provider order and result documents as well as all referrals and their associated reports.
  • Leads the continuous quality improvement process with the support of CMO, Medical Staff Chiefs and Physician Directors.
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Business Development to lead the patient access staff in all of the practice locations. Sr. Dir. responsible for the recruitment and training of the patient access (ie: "front end") staff of the practices. VP and Sr Director co-lead lead the continuous development of the centralized scheduling process.
  • Collaborates with the CMO, CNO and others necessary to build care systems within hospital organization to ensure the integration of the physician practices into the hospital.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for our employed physicians, developing and maintaining, positive and productive relationships. Collaboration with other leadership team members through effective delegation (up and down) is essential.
  • Leading, managing, mentoring, and developing direct reports and their teams, and manage consultants as needed.
  • Monitoring the competitive landscape and attending industry events to stay abreast of new innovations in care delivery.


Additional Duties:

  • Responsible for the measurement and reporting of contribution margin of individual providers, practices and service lines.
  • Manage relationships with outside organizations/partners in conjunction with clinician support.
  • Provides leadership in the critical areas of planning, budgets, new products and services, compliance, and other physician practice issues.
  • Works with HR to recruit qualified Physicians, Advance Practice Providers and clinical staff.
  • Collaborates with physicians to provide innovative practice growth (ex: telemedicine) and quality solutions that will maintain and improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Propels practice brand strategy and marketing needs in collaboration with Exec Director for Community Relations.
  • Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained as relevant to the operations of the clinics.
  • Be committed to observing, reporting, and enhancing patient and employee safety as part of an overall emphasis on continuous improvement, learning, and member experience in the organization.
  • Ensures excellence in design and execution of patient scheduling, productivity, KPIs and data analyses, call handling, procurement and vendor relationships, inventory management, risk mitigation controls, regulatory compliance, support systems such as EMR usability and provider support tools, physical plant, and other duties as assigned.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Manage relationships with outside organizations/partners in conjunction with clinician support.
  • Understanding and developing physical plan needs for space required for expanded clinics and member experience centers and other programs.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Optimizing and articulating roles and responsibilities for all positions in Division, career pathing, and developing talent benches.
