POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is currently looking for a Vice President of Global Total Rewards & HR Operations, based in our corporate headquarters in Denver, Colorado. This key role reports directly to the Chief People Officer and leads our Global Total Rewards and HR Operations functions, which include executive compensation, general employee compensation, global benefits, HR technology, workforce analytics, global payroll, and compliance. Additionally, this role serves on the Global People & Culture Leadership Team and plays a key role in developing and implementing the company's various people strategies, programs, and processes. The role requires the incumbent to operate strategically and tactically in building on our current compensation & benefits strategies, creating a vision to help shape the direction of our HR operations capabilities, and optimize our HR systems and technologies, with the goal of building business-attuned, data-driven, robust, scalable HR capabilities and processes to serve and enable our people and organization.

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $240,000 to $280,000 per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Direct the design and development of Advanced Energy's pay and salary programs and structures including competitive short and long-term incentive plans for management, frontline and sales staff as appropriate per business unit and or at corporate level.
- Oversee the evaluation of jobs and the application of existing job classifications, assignment of job grades, salary ranges, and FLSA status to positions.
- Direct annual market survey and recommendations regarding changes in salary plans; oversee all activity related to published compensation surveys throughout the year and audit survey output, market trends and competitive pay positions to ensure that the salary plans are internally equitable and drive the achievement of overall company goals and objectives.
- Ensure alignment with Advanced Energy global rewards philosophy, drive the review of market data and development of market reference ranges including report development, analysis of market data, movement recommendation, and costing for both US and all other countries.
- Provide leadership and oversight of the company's various equity plans including executive grants, discretionary grants, and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).
- Partner with the CHRO on executive compensation design and governance including board presentations. Design, develop, implement, and evaluate programs in support of HR strategies, objectives, and initiatives.
Benefits:
- Lead the global benefits team to design, implement and assess our plan competitiveness (cost, meaningfulness, and utilization) relative to market and ensure program compliance on a country-by-country basis.
- Oversee the contracting and active management of benefit plan vendors, auditors and consultants for services, premiums, and plan administration.
- Oversee the management of processes and controls to ensure total compliance with regulatory agencies and organizations and optimize our benefit administration processes.
HR Operations:
- Expand and evolve an HR Operations model supporting all employees, managers, transactions, information, and services, including all global mobility programs.
- Define and monitor service level agreements, key metrics, and opportunities to improve efficiencies.
- Partner with stakeholders across the HR team to develop and implement effective people processes and technology around the entire employee lifecycle and experience (i.e., attract, recruit, develop, perform, retain, separate, re-skill).
- Lead the development of people-related policies and compliance activities including new policy development, change management and adoption and implementation of new/updated compliance requirements to meet local, state, federal governing laws (employee handbook, policies, record keeping, training requirements, audits, AAP reporting, etc.).
- Help process map and determine opportunities to streamline existing HR processes with an eye towards optimizing the back office of HR for the future.
- Centralize repeatable processes within HR Operations and simplify and streamline decentralized processes for improved operations.
- Ensure data integrity and security meets legal requirements and are maintained with the highest level of accuracy.
- Drive process and customer service improvements and innovative solutions. Streamline processes that better enable our HR team, managers, and employees to be self-sufficient leveraging SuccessFactors, SAP and related HR systems.
- Build a customer-centric, results-oriented team. Determine priorities, and select, coach, and develop staff. Set clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manage performance, recognize achievements, and provide feedback.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight including research, problem solving, and execution.
HR Technology:
- Direct the development and support responsibilities for critical, global, enterprise-wide HR systems including SuccessFactors, SAP, ADP, Qualtrics, benefits systems, and other tools as added.
- Partner with HR, IT, and functional leaders to identify, implement, and support all technologies to enable talent management (performance management, onboarding, learning, etc.), total rewards (compensation, benefits, etc.), talent acquisition and human capital insights.
- Direct the resolution of complex or unusual business problems by applying advanced analytical thought and judgement.
- Maintain and evolve our Workforce Analytics program to spearhead our operational success, establish and sustain metrics that will be used to drive strategic decisions and measure progress against key performance indicators.
- Drive excellence in HR data and analytics to ensure high-quality data, consistent definitions, and enable robust reporting & analytics and business insights.
Payroll Administration:
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing in all countries in compliance with laws and regulations through appropriate policies and standard operating procedures.
- Oversee selection and management of payroll vendor relationships.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Location: Denver, CO
- Environment: Standard office environment, onsite at Corporate HQ
- Travel: Global and domestic travel is required, up to 10%.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 20+ years of progressive experience in global HR Operations and Total Rewards functions.
- Prior experience managing a global team at various levels.
- Experience working closely with Board of Directors' Compensation Committee on all matters related to BOD and Executive Compensation in a publicly traded company, including overall competitive compensation positioning, short and long-term incentive design, equity management, tax compliance, SEC regulations, executive agreement design, and compliance (409A/280g).
- Demonstrated track record of design, development, communication and administration of compensation strategies and plans, including bonuses, equity, incentives, profit sharing and other compensation vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present materials in a clear and concise manner providing experiential value.
- Able to achieve goals through influencing, partnering, and developing productive relationships with peers and business leaders, across the company.
- Knowledge of HR practices, principles, and procedures based on collaborating with colleagues across the HR function (HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, etc.) and internal partners (Legal, Finance, etc.)
- Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to create and lead highly effective and successful teams; experience working in environments that drive excellence, holding self to high standards willing to collaborate with the team.
- Project and program management experience, including defining scope, managing budgets, driving deliverables, meeting deadlines, and managing competing priorities. Strong analytical skills problem-solving skills, and the ability to connect the dots between the business needs and how we can best meet those needs.
- Advanced interpersonal, listening and communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills, and a track record of effectively communicating with and influencing at all levels.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills to lead, build and develop a global team and elevate the HR Operations and Total Rewards functions in multiple, global locations.
- Highly collaborative with a proven track record for working in a matrix environment, partnering with HR Business Partners and leaders, and successfully operating across organizations and levels.
- Exceptional judgment, self-management, strong ethics, and a high degree of personal and professional maturity.

- Experience implementing and working with various HR technology solutions (SuccessFactors and SAP preferred) and strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Must be discrete and maintain the highest confidentiality with extremely sensitive data.
EDUCATION:
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business or related field required.
- Advanced degree in Human Resources, Organization Development, MBA or related field strongly preferred.
- CCP, CBP, SPHR, SHRM SCP or similar HR professional certifications preferred.
- PMP or other project management certifications are a plus.
