Overview

Reports to: Chief Administration Officer

Functions Supervised: Human Resources including Employment, Recruiting, Payroll, Employee Benefits, Employee Relations, Employee Operations, and HR Systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Human Resources function for an $11B credit union with almost 2,000 employees.
  • Partner with Chief Administration Officer and Corporate Administration senior leadership to develop and implement people strategies aligned with organization goals to enhance employee engagement and employee experience.
  • Ensure the efficiency, effectiveness and control of operations of assigned departments and functions consistent with the credit union's net income requirements and highest-quality member and interdepartmental service expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to assigned departments and related credit union activities.
  • Keep abreast of related industry, professional and technological trends, issues, products and/or services, as applicable, to ensure the current and future effectiveness and profitability of the credit union's services, policies, technologies, staff proficiencies and processes as they relate to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and manage the annual human resources budget.
  • Serve and actively participate in various management committees, as assigned.
  • Represent the credit union and seek leadership positions in community, professional and trade associations, as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, education or another related field. PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP preferred.

    Creditable Experience in Lieu of Education: Eight years' current experience in a similar position.

    Experience/Skills:
    • Superior interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Specialized knowledge of human resources subfields including employment and recruitment, employee relations, HR compliance, compensation and benefits, HR analytics and technology.
    • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into people strategies.
    • Change management expertise with proven success in navigating organizational transitions.
    • Credit union or other financial industry experience preferred.
    • Must have a minimum of eight years' current experience in a similar position.

    Compensation

    Salary pay range: $155,000 to $197,000 annually. Starting base salary will be determined based on position, experience, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above.

    In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
