The Vice President of Litigation and Risk Management plays a critical role in ensuring that Wingstop operates within legal boundaries while mitigating potential risks. This position requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in litigation management, risk assessment, and compliance.

The Vice President of Litigation and Risk Management plays a critical role in ensuring that Wingstop operates within legal boundaries while mitigating potential risks. This position requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in litigation management, risk assessment, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to effectively manage litigation matters across the organization.
- Monitor legal trends and developments to anticipate potential litigation risks and advise senior management accordingly.
- Oversee the budgeting and allocation of resources for litigation matters, ensuring cost-effective management.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential legal, regulatory, operational, and reputational risks.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans to minimize exposure and safeguard the organization's interests.
- Establish and maintain effective risk management policies, procedures, and controls throughout the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to business units on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards by monitoring regulatory developments and implementing compliance programs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess compliance risks and develop strategies to address gaps.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to evaluate compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Provide training and educational resources to employees to promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
- Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to senior management on complex legal and regulatory issues affecting the organization.
- Assess the legal implications of business decisions and transactions and recommend courses of action to mitigate risks.
- Participate in strategic planning processes to ensure legal considerations are integrated into organizational objectives and initiatives.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, legal teams, and business units.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on legal and risk management matters, providing timely and accurate advice and recommendations.
- Represent the organization externally with regulatory agencies, legal partners, and industry associations.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Bar Association.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation management, risk management, and compliance, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to litigation, risk management, and compliance.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation matters and mitigating legal and operational risks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future challenges and opportunities.
