The Role

The Vice President of McKesson Brands Sourcing is a key leadership role within our private label medical surgical group. This role is responsible for defining and implementing comprehensive sourcing strategies that drive supply stability, cost optimization, and superior quality across our nearly $2B product portfolio. The leader of this important organization works collaboratively with numerous cross-functional teams, including product development, supply chain, legal, warehouse operations, and quality assurance to ensure sourcing aligns with corporate goals and customer needs. The Vice President of Sourcing will lead a high-performing sourcing team, cultivating strategic supplier relationships and fostering innovation in sourcing practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with corporate objectives, ensuring supply chain resiliency, cost competitiveness, and strong and consistent quality.
    • Oversee global and domestic sourcing activities, including supplier selection, negotiations, contract management, and performance evaluation.
    • Align sourcing initiatives to support product development timelines and innovation efforts.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, fostering collaboration, innovation, and long-term partnerships.
    • Lead the team in conducting supplier evaluations and implementing performance improvement plans as needed.
    • Monitor supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality standards, and cost adherence.
  • Negotiation Expertise:
    • Develop and execute robust negotiation strategies to achieve best-in-class pricing, terms, and conditions.
    • Anticipate and mitigate potential risks related to cost fluctuations, regulatory changes, and geopolitical factors.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Collaberation with Product Development:
    • Partner with product development teams to identify and source materials and components that meet technical, quality, and cost requirements.
    • Collaborate on the evaluation and selection of suppliers for new product development projects.
    • Provide sourcing input on manufacturability, material selection, and scalability during product design stages.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of sourcing professionals to achieve excellence in performance and career growth.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the sourcing organization.
    • Develop and monitor team objectives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Cost Optimization and Risk Mitigation:
    • Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or supply stability.
    • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through diversification, dual sourcing, and contingency planning.
    • Evaluate global and regional market trends to proactively address supply challenges.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
    • Ensure suppliers meet rigorous quality standards required for medical device manufacturing.
    • Collaborate with quality assurance and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and certifications.


Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices or healthcare.
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong knowledge of product development processes, manufacturing operations, and quality systems in the medical device industry.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
  • Global sourcing experience and knowledge of international trade regulations.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree strongly preferred).

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $172,500 - $287,500
