We are looking for an experienced and visionary leader to join our team as the Vice President of CMS Operations. In this high-impact role, you will manage and direct all claim service related activities. You will work closely with the division head to ensure smooth and effective operations. With a focus on innovation and growth, you'll have the opportunity to truly make your mark by shaping the direction of the CMS division and contributing to the overall success of our TPA services.

This role goes beyond traditional management-it's a chance to drive meaningful change and influence key areas of the business, including marketing initiatives, sales strategies, and customer relations. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years to 10 years of management experience, ideally within a carrier, third party claims administrator or similar environment. This candidate will bring a proven ability to lead teams, improve operational efficiency, and build strong relationships with clients.

Duties and Essential Functions:
  • Oversight of the CMS WC, P&C, QA and Administrative business units
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation line of business preferred
  • Extensive Knowledge of Auto, Property, Errors & Omissions, and General Liability, lines of business
  • Assist with all division hiring
  • Secure high quality claims service performance
  • Maintain, implement and monitor quality assurance (QA) controls for division
  • Develop program service plans and strategies and maintain as current
  • Design, develop and manage ongoing claims cost containment strategies
  • Participate in business and marketing strategy development for division
  • Development of continuous training to ensure staff knowledge base growth
  • Support division budget discipline
  • Ongoing assessment of staff productivity, including annual performance reviews
  • Stewardship report development and ongoing update as needed, including presentation of such
  • Claim file review coordination and attendance where needed
  • Work closely with head of claims on client rate module entry and support
  • Presentation slide assembly support for division head and sales associates as needed
  • Participate with marketing strategies as needed
  • Other special projects as needed

Other Functions and Responsibilities:

Other duties of this position include client service meetings as needed. This includes directly presenting client stewardship reports for our larger clients.

Other functions:
  • Perform division audits relative to claim service to ensure best practice compliance
  • Review all weekly and monthly KPI metrics to ensure compliance
  • Training for new and current staff
  • Maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients
  • Some regional travel at time needed for client visits and sales

Required Qualifications:
  • Previously dynamic leadership experience is a must
  • Previous high level customer experience and presentation experience essential
  • Strong insurance acumen with claims and risk management knowledge
  • Must demonstrate ability to multi-task and effectively manage special projects
  • Must be computer literate with efficiency in Word, Power Point and Excel applications
  • Must possess the ability to assess and evaluate program analytics
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills a must
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues and make sound decisions
  • Adaptability with creative and critical thinking is a must
  • Effective time management and organizational skills are critical
  • 5+ years of management / supervisory experience in claims service industry
  • 10+ years overall claims experience
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Strong cost- benefit analysis, decision making and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Cost containment program design or implementation experience
  • Workflow design and implementation experience
  • Great customer service and presentation skills
  • Detail oriented and flexible

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Insurance industry leadership experience with high level customer service capabilities
  • Experience in training and formulation of presentations in sales and analytics
  • High energy with dynamic client focus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business preferred; including other insurance designations

Job Status and Expected Hours:

The position is full-time and exempt. IPMG's core hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Any flexibility around that schedule must be approved by management. All employee must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as essential functions demand.

Physical Demands:

The job is primarily sedentary in nature. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee owner is regularly required to talk/hear and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms and lift up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets. The flexibility to work from home twice per week is also available for this role.

Travel:

The job requires commuting to the office, clients and/or other business partner locations. Light travel is also required. This includes a valid driver's license.
