Description:
Leap29 are seeking a Vice President of Development, Northeast Solar and Storage to help lead greenfield solar and storage project development activities in the Northeast (New England and New York). The VP will support all aspects of project development with a specific focus on managing site origination and acquisition, project permitting, project interconnection processes, and local stakeholder outreach. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with energy project development, is a self-starter, problem-solver, and a strong communicator. Success in the role requires a high degree of organization and attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and resourcefulness.
Location: Boston or NYC Metro area.
Responsibilities
Lead the greenfield team's efforts to originate and acquire new project sites in the Northeast
Manage the interconnection processes for all project sites in the Northeast
Manage the local project permitting efforts for all project sites in the Northeast
Interface with landowners and local stakeholders, including neighbors and municipal officials
Travel to project locations for landowner, stakeholder engagement, interconnection and permitting meetings
Manage project budgets and development timelines
Manage a team of project developers
Requirements
Deep experience in renewable energy development
Strong knowledge of permitting and zoning frameworks in the Northeast
Strong knowledge of interconnection processes in the Northeast
Strong knowledge of energy markets and solar technology
Self-directed, entrepreneurial, and motivated, with an ability to drive progress independently
Strong communication and writing skills
Strong public speaking skills
