As VP of Engineering, you will set the vision, lead execution, and foster a high-performance engineering culture. You'll work closely with executive leadership to ensure that engineering strategies align with company goals, while managing technical teams across multiple time zones. Responsibilities
- Lead our Software Engineering team delivering quality software on time and prioritizing effectively. You will partner with our Executive Team to create aggressive goals that will expand our product's reach and uplevels our current offerings.
- Hire and grow Engineering Managers and Senior Engineers to build and continue to reinforce a strong technical leadership core and culture that will ensure the broader engineering organization is scaling and feels rewarded in their work.
- Champion engineering excellence. In partnership with your engineering leaders, you will establish metrics, processes and targeted engagement to reduce technical debt. You will oversee the coordination of all engineering work streams and maintain a high bar for quality.
- Work closely with our Product leaders and Tech leaders to ensure resources are allocated to meet company priorities.
- Be a company leader. You will provide visibility into the engineering team's work in a way that is clear and builds trust with leaders and other departments. You will proactively identify bottlenecks, pitfalls, and other potential issues and work with the CEO and President to address them.
- Manage engineering budget. You will oversee the team budget, including headcount, infrastructure, and software costs.
- Be cutting edge. R&D of AI/ML tools like Cursor, ChatGPT Canvas, etc to quickly iterate with Product leaders and Tech leaders.
Qualifications
- Experience growing and managing an engineering organization with multiple leaders in place. Have led and managed a scaled engineering team of at least 50-100 headcount. Our current Engineering Team is ~30 and are both local in Dallas + International.
- Experience leading multi-time zone technical teams with a large global footprint.
- Proven leadership abilities, including effective knowledge sharing and leading by example through creating open forums for discussion. At least 10+ years of technical leadership experience managing teams of 50+ in a FinTech product company.
- Extensive experience scaling an inclusive software engineering team, building and developing leaders, and investing in broader technical mentorship.
- An eye and respect for Product. You will have a proven track record of ensuring product/software have been deployed on time and resourced efficiently and effectively.
- Lead the product/software delivery for an organization. Ensuring the company met deadlines and committed to external parties.
- Experience with cloud-based technologies (Azure/AWS), Microsoft stack, Angular and willingness to roll up your sleeves and help when necessary.
Skills
- 12+ years of engineering execution or engineering management experience at an enterprise or consumer technology company.
- Bank debt/Private Credit experience is highly preferable.
- Strong accountability, work ethic, sense of urgency with little to no entitlement.
- Excellent communication, people, and problem resolution skills.
- Strong ability to lead, develop and mentor a technical community.
- Exceptional ability to attract and retain credible technical talent.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) is required.
- Preferably based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
