Scope of Responsibility

Cascade Engineering has an opening for a Vice President of Finance. This role is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's financial operations. This role requires a strategic, analytical, and results-oriented leader with a proven track record of success. The VP of Finance will play a critical role in driving financial growth, mitigating risk, and advance the company's strategic vision and commitment to the Triple Bottom Line philosophy.

Location: Main Office / East Plant (5175 36th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512)

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Develop and execute short-term and long-term financial plans, including budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, key performance indicator (KPI) tracking, and profitability analysis.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the President, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors
  • Provide insightful financial recommendations to support strategic decision-making

Financial Operations
  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP)
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls

Cash Flow Management
  • Create and maintain cash flow projections, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs

Financial Strategy & Development
  • Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities and M&A targets
  • Manage financial relationships with banks and other financial institutions
  • Explore and implement strategies to improve financial performance and efficiency

Team Leadership & Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team
  • Recruit, hire, and train qualified finance professionals
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including tax laws and financial reporting standards
  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks, implementing policies and procedures to safeguard the company's assets
  • Oversee the company's audit process
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in financial management, with minimum 5 years in a Senior Leadership role.
  • Minimum 5 years' leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and draw insightful conclusions
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Expertise in accounting principles and financial reporting standards (e.g., GAAP).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Excel, Hyperion, SAP) and ERP systems.
  • Strategic thinker, detail oriented, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365
