POSITION SUMMARY
Elmington is a privately owned commercial real estate investment and development firm headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. It is comprised of multiple locations and lines of business that are operated as their own living, breathing corporation. We focus on commercial real estate opportunities that provide income return and capital appreciation through a diverse array of strategic initiatives. We primarily acquire retail, office, industrial, and multifamily properties and identify the opportunity to add value through development, repositioning, more effective operations, or creative capitalization. The Vice President of Human Resources will play a crucial role in planning, directing, and coordinating all human resources activities, policies, and programs for our organization. This position offers the opportunity to develop strategies that enhance employee engagement and align HR initiatives with our company's strategic goals.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and leadership
- Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines efficiently
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise all HR team members, providing guidance, mentorship, and leadership for HR staff
- Sets HR strategic direction alongside the COO, including directing and leading HR special projects
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new employees including all HR compliance activities
- Manage and train HR managers to ensure efficient daily workflows and adherence to company policies
- Handle disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company guidelines and legal requirements
- Collaborate with executives and senior leadership to align HR policies with organizational objectives
- Conduct research and analyze organizational trends to execute best practices for hiring, talent management, and retention
- Plan and execute HR functions strategically, including compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, occupational safety, employee communications, employee experience, and employee relations
- Develop and manage the budget for the human resources department
- Perform all other duties as assigned
SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Extensive experience in human resources, with a focus on HR operations and management
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to oversee and motivate a team
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals
- Proficiency in HR software and systems
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently sit, stand and walk
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary
