Vice President of Standards

Description:
IPC International, Inc. is looking to hire a Vice President of Standards.
As the VP of Standards, you will develop and implement strategic goals and objectives within standards groups as directed by the CEO/President and Board of Directors. This role provides direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization's philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives with respect to standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy: Drive strategic adjustments and recommendations to ensure the standards processes, activities, and products remain the leading products for the benefit of the electronics industry. Collaborate with the organization's executive team, industry stakeholders, and Board members to ensure these directions are meeting ever-changing global needs. Incorporation of strategic directions into departmental actionable plans that have well defined tangible results for organization. Responsible for directly incorporating inputs from IPC Board of Directors, Technical Advisory Executive Committee (TAEC), and CEO into departmental goals and functions.
Personnel: Responsible for all standards personnel globally. Ensure this team can deliver both the needs of today and those anticipated for tomorrow. Responsible for hiring, firing and staffing required for maintaining continuity of operations. Provide mentorship and vision to directors and managers on an as needed and regular basis. Responsible for conducting regular meetings with directors and managers providing feedback based on initiatives and outcomes.
Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations for departments associated with standards. Responsible for fiscal management of departmental activities related to profit and loss for this core program area within the organization.
Communications: Management and conflict resolution between and among high level corporate technology officers, committee chairpersons, IPC employees, consultants, and industry spokes people. Responsible for: management of appeals process for standards development, enforcement of IPC code of conduct for standards committees, adherence to process of standardization including ANSI essential requirements. Manage technical committees for standards development.
Relationships: Oversee relationships with other technical organizations regarding standards and technology development. Responsible for managing technical relationships with other trade associations regarding joint standard development and technical activities including: NIST, JEDEC, IEEE, AIA, GEIA, SEMI, etc. Responsible for the oversight of development of technical certification programs associated with content within standards.
External Presence: Participation in industry advisory boards and councils as well as contribution as an industry thought leader.
Other: General administration and support of tradeshows and conferences. Other specific executive-level projects or initiative support as required to strengthen the organization.

- Bachelor's degree in science or technology related field.
- Master's degree in business administration or organizational behavior preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in electronics or related industry.
- Prior work in development of industry standards or related volunteer activities preferred.
- Professional engineering license preferred.
- Proficiency using Microsoft 365, CRM, and ERP systems.
- Domestic and International travel, approximately 30%. Hybrid/Remote work environment.
