Job Description

GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION: The Vice President is directly responsible for the operation of the Perkinston Campus and George County Center. This includes fiscal and operational management, instructional supervision, athletics, student services, fiscal plant operations, and every phase of campus activity are part of the position's overall responsibilities. The Vice President has the authority to delegate responsibilities as deemed necessary to ensure efficient operation. The Vice President reports directly to the College President.

Job Duties

General Responsibilities:
1. Exercise general supervision over the Perkinston Campus and George County Center, ensuring smooth daily operations.
2. Ensure that all instructional matters align with college policies and maintain compliance. Oversee campus instructional functions to enhance the student learning experience and support academic excellence.
3. Ensure that all student services and enrollment management matters and activities adhere to college policies and maintain compliance. Oversee campus student services functions to enhance the student learning experience and support academic experience.
4. Provide supervision of the college Dean of Athletics to maintain outstanding athletic programs.
5. Develop and oversee administrative systems for fiscal operations, enrollment processes, and instructional management. Ensure a smooth flow of information and actions, including the timely submission of data reports to the appropriate personnel.
6. Ensure that all business office management is consistent and in compliance with college policy, maintaining financial integrity and transparency.
7. Assist in establishing and maintaining campus budgets and coordinating with the college district finance office.
8. Oversee and provide strategic leadership for both college employee housing and student residential housing, ensuring effective management, policy implementation, and overall operational excellence.
9. In cooperation with the college Human Resources Office, recommend to the president of the college, the employment, retention, replacement, and transfer of all campus and center personnel.
10. Conduct faculty and campus meetings on a regular basis and as needed for efficient communication and operation of the campus and center.
11. Maintain positive morale for the faculty, staff, and students of the campus and center.
12. Coordinate, develop, and establish strong public information programs regarding the campus and the college, promoting campus initiatives and the broader mission of the college, in cooperation with the college president and the Institutional Advancement Division.
13. Coordinate all activities of the campus advisory committee.
14. Assist in conducting studies and projects and performing research for the continued development of the College in its educational services to the community and in the evaluation of these to the community.
15. Serve on the College Executive Council and other committees and council as assigned by the College President.
16. Serve as an active member of the Stone County, George County, and/or Gulf Coast Community through involvement in the community and civic organizations and participate in community service activities.
17. Attend all meetings of the College Board of Trustees and other such meetings as required by the College President.
18. Lead planning and implementation teams based on the four Institutional Commitments found in Excelerate 2030.
19. Seek and procure appropriate professional development opportunities to increase personal effectiveness as a member of the College Executive Council.
20. Actively oversee the development and execution of workforce training and related grant opportunities for the Perkinston Campus and George County Center.
21. Perform other such duties as assigned by the College President to support institutional objectives.

Mandatory Qualifications

(M1) An earned doctorate in an appropriate field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. (M2) A minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience leading a higher education campus or department, governmental agency, and/or business entity or division. (M3) Strong written, communication, and technology skills. (M4) Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills. (M5) An understanding of the commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.

Desirable Qualifications

(D1) Community college administrative and instructional experience. (D2) Applicable experience leading a large educational institution or department. (D3) Extensive knowledge in the following areas: Physical Plant Management, Budget Development and Administration, Strategic Planning, Organizational Leadership, Admissions, Financial Aid, Instructional Leadership, Business Office Operations, Legal Affairs, Personnel Management, and Public Relations. (D4) Familiarity and experience with the multi-campus environment. (D5) Demonstrate experience in planning and overseeing college and community events, with a proven ability to attract large audiences and contribute to the financial success of the organization.
