The Vice President, Product Development & Food Design is a key role that is responsible for leading the global Applications, Technical Service and Culinology teams in the development and launch of new ingredients and formulation solutions that address the food product development needs today and in the future across a range of product categories and commercial channels. The Vice President will have overall accountability for the global customer and consumer experience technical teams and will drive development of key end-to-end formulation science technologies, capabilities, and development tools that impact ingredient development through finished product manufacturing. The Vice President will lead the advancement of category product development and application excellence in Savory, Dairy/Dairy Alternatives, Meats/Meats Alternatives, Beverages, Snacks, Bakery and Confectionary, Industrial, Beauty & Home. The Vice President will lead Ingredion's product development and food design's competitive advantage in the industry.

Pay Range:
$259,520.00-$346,026.67 Annual
This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation:
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.

Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute multi-year global product development and food design strategy and advance technology platform, category and solutions leadership capabilities to deliver innovation for Texture and Healthful Solutions growth aligned with the Company's strategic aspirations
- Grow & establish Ingredion's capability as a thought leader and trusted partner for advancing product development and food design innovation globally and in local markets
- Build global depth of category technical teams and provide leadership and vision for our Applications, Technical Service and Culinology teams to build food design capabilities
- Develop and lead an effective product development and food design process from conceptualization and ingredient development to finished product scale-up to ensure successful launch of new innovative product solutions for consumer packaged goods, private label, and foodservice customers
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including sales, marketing, measurement sciences and process innovation, to ensure the product meets customer and consumer needs and can be manufactured with excellence
- Support the global roll out and commercialization of innovative and sustainable product solutions that help Ingredion and our customers deliver on sustainability commitments and enhance the overall consumer experience
- Drive recognition of Ingredion's Idea Labs at key industry engagements and establish thought leadership in key technical application and formulation areas
- Work closely to assess Intellectual Property in key application areas, communicate potential threats and opportunities to the organization. Develop external networks and identify joint development programs with external research and development partners.
- Create and support a high-performing culture that encourages a high-trust, team-based environment to motivate & inspire staff to work collaboratively towards growth targets
- Lead, inspire, and mentor the leadership team to identify and enable professional development opportunities for all team members
- Oversee the operations and related budgets of the team and maintain a high level of fiscal accountability
Qualified candidates will have:
- Advanced degree in Food Science or related scientific field, with minimum 15 years of broad technical, R&D / product applications / formulation experience, preferably across a combination of B2B and B2C environments
- A minimum of 10 years experience leading and directing a global product development/applications team
- Broad formulation, ingredient development and food design knowledge in a variety of application category segments
- Specific formulation knowledge with texturizers, sweeteners and functional nutritional ingredients a plus
- Strong business acumen and awareness of key financial drivers / economic landscape of the industry
- Experience leading and building organizations (over 100 people) across multiple sites and/or geographies.
- Strong technical skills, with understanding of innovative technologies as they relate to Ingredion's operating Segments.
- Familiarity with end-to-end food industry commercialization and manufacturing processes is highly desirable, with a preference for a wide range of product category experience. Experience working in the food ingredient industry and commercializing new products is desirable.
- Excellent executive presence, verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate an ability to function as a global thought leader and represent Ingredion to the Board, customers, and other senior stakeholders.
- Visibly demonstrate experiences, results-orientation and behaviors consistent with Ingredion's Values.
- Experience with ingredient manufacturers and/or consumer goods manufacturing companies, direct consumer packaged goods and/or foodservice experience a plus.
- High degree of emotional intelligence and ability to work effectively with a wide range of personality and working styles while demonstrating Ingredion's values
- Leadership style that drives prioritization and management of multiple products and customer agendas through all stages of the innovation pipeline within demanding timelines.
- Affinity for innovative technologies and food applications that address consumer needs and important health and sustainability opportunities.
