Minimum Qualifications:

* 10 years of leadership experience in healthcare quality, performance improvement, and patient safety required.

* Position also requires experience working with various types of Quality Improvement, Performance Improvement or service excellence approaches (e.g., Six Sigma, IHI, Baldridge, Process Improvement, CQI, Rapid Team Problem Solving).
* Proven track record of leading large-scale quality initiatives with measurable outcomes.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Quality and Safety at AtlantiCare provides expertise, leadership and support for system-wide and entity initiatives designed to improve performance and achieve sustainable results. This individual will champion a culture of continuous improvement, patient safety, and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
The VP will lead cross-functional teams to achieve measurable outcomes, exceed regulatory standards, and drive innovation in care delivery across AtlantiCare Health System emphasizing improved patient/customer services and outcomes. Reporting directly to the Chief Physician Executive, this position will influence strategic decision making and foster accountability at all levels of the organization.
The VP is also responsible for strategically planning, organizing and coordinating AtlantiCare Health Systems current and future efforts to achieve quality and patient safety improvements ensuring that all employees and consumers have timely access to pertinent quality and safety information and knowledge.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and execute a system-wide quality and performance excellence strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
* Act as a thought leader to identify emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in healthcare quality, safety, and operational performance.
* Serve as a member of the executive leadership team, providing insights and recommendations to drive organizational success.
Quality and Safety Oversight
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators for quality, safety and patient satisfaction.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including The Joint Commission, CMS, and state agencies.
* Lead the development and implementation of patient safety initiatives and risk mitigation strategies.
Performance Improvement
* Oversee the deployment of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and clinical outcomes.
* Partner with clinical and operational leaders to design, implement, and evaluate improvement initiatives
* Drive a culture of accountability through transparent performance reporting and data-driven decision-making.

Collaboration and Engagement
* Foster collaboration across departments to ensure alignment of quality and performance goals.
* Engage physicians, nurses, and staff at all levels to embed a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
* Build and sustain relationships with external stakeholders, including accrediting bodies, community organizations, and industry leaders.
Team Development and Leadership
* Lead and mentor a high-performing team of quality, safety, and performance improvement professionals.
* Ensure team members have access to ongoing education and professional development opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Master degree in Nursing, Health Administration, quality or related field required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: RN, NP or DNP degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 10 years of leadership experience in healthcare quality, performance improvement, and patient safety required. 8-10 years of healthcare management experience required. Position also requires experience working with various types of Quality Improvement, Performance Improvement or service excellence approaches (e.g., Six Sigma, IHI, Baldridge, Process Improvement, CQI, Rapid Team Problem Solving). Proven track record of leading large-scale quality initiatives with measurable outcomes.

SKILLS: Subject matter expert for all Quality Programs that impact AtlantiCare Health System. Subject matter expert for data sources, data collection tools, and the development of data collection methodologies for the quality program. Strong understanding of operations management methodology and techniques as they apply in the Healthcare industry. Demonstrates knowledge of Joint Commission, Federal, State and PRO regulations. Proficiency in databases, spreadsheet, statistical, graphics, and word processing software applications are essential. Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of hospital staff in a verbal and written manner; possesses keen analytical skills and demonstrates ability to be very organized; and effectively plans projects, workflow activities, and assignments.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to organizational leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
