Job Description

Zenith is looking for a talented Vice President, Integrated Strategy & Investment to drive new thinking and help deliver truly innovative work for our clients. This person is an intrinsic part of a large team of Local omni channel strategic thinkers and will lead them in the development and execution of localized media plans for these clients. This leader effectively leverages their media strategy, digital, and video planning experience, knowledge, and skills to push fresh thinking while balancing client, agency, and team needs with dedicated support in the way of senior level top-down guidance and direct reports. This position reports into the SVP, Integrated Strategy & Investment and has 5 direct reports.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Innovative thinking
    • Set strategic vision of Local media approach via analysis of relevant business metrics and new media solutions to deliver on client goals
    • Delivers innovative Local media plans built on consumer-first data and insights that deliver business results across multiple lines of business.
    • Direct and nurture the development, presentation and maintenance of strategic plans; including insight development, strategic initiatives, big ideas, and thought leadership point-of-views
    • Stay up to date on local marketplace trends and capabilities in order to deliver innovative tactical recommendations that leverage the best of advanced media, tech, data
    • Familiar with marketing science principles and problem solving / analytics used to influence a data-driven and quantitative approach in driving strategy
  • Lead by example
    • Act as the cross-team leader, ensuring that strategic thinking is at the forefront of all recommendations and plans at every stage in the consumer journey
    • Advance the client relationship by building trust and maintaining positive rapport through clear understanding of client's business, sound strategic leadership and partnership commitments
    • Serves as cross-channel media expert/leader and stakeholder for all account communication, deliverables, and presentations
    • Provide coaching and direction to team members to ensure all buys and executions of media plans adhere to agreed upon planning strategies and are properly communicated to client
  • Collaborate, Inspire and Influence
    • Demonstrate strong knowledge of all cross-channel media, with a drive for curiosity and passion for the client's business
    • Proactively create a culture of collaboration - partner with cross-functional internal and external teams to develop insights and brand extensions through evaluations of cross-platform opportunities
    • Establish and grow client relationships by demonstrating a command of industry and client business issues, ensuring we're delivering on full value of VM1/Zenith resources under client remit
    • Work with internal teams to gauge media performance and KPIs to determine the extent to which the original objectives and strategies were met
  • Reach Down and Pull Up the Next Generation of Talent
    • Mentor and guide junior talent to ensure proper education for advancement
    • Educate internal teams and clients on local media best practices and socialize expertise
    • Manage day to day operations of team and provide ongoing proactive feedback and direction


Qualifications

This candidate is a strategic thinker but also has experience in local media investment (Video, Audio and Out of Home) from an integrated lens in order to drive the development of both strategic media approaches and tactical investment recommendations.
  • 10+ years of media planning experience with a concentration in strategy and activation
    • Agency experience highly preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in a management capacity
  • Strong understanding of all local media channels (video, audio, out of home)
  • Adept at injecting ideas, innovation and leading industry developments into planning assignments
  • Thinks clearly and diplomatically when participating in a discussion to field complex or sensitive questions from clients/internal groups
  • Demonstrates an ability to be curious, bold and passionate about our client's business
  • Strong media partner relationships and excellent leadership qualities
  • Proven experience and success in presenting plans to senior clients and influencing top level client decisions related to media strategy and implementation
  • Detail-oriented and proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Ability to anticipate and quickly assess continually changing client needs and adapt resources and strategies accordingly
  • Software Knowledge: Microsoft Suite, Nielsen Suite, Kantar, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, comScore, Prisma, MRI/GWI. Must understand its capabilities and applications to translate data into actionable consumer first insights
  • Ability to translate numbers into viable business solutions to enhance strategies and meet deliverables

Compensation Range: $156,560- $200,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
