The Vice President of Student Life reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of IMG Academy and has a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and oversight for all aspects of the Student Life Department. This position is pivotal in delivering an unrivaled campus experience that prioritizes an enriched student, camp participant, and team member growth environment. This role is responsible for developing transformative programs, services and policies that enhance student engagement, well-being, and personal development at the highest level.

As a key leader on campus, the Vice President of Student Life partners and collaborates closely with Academics, Athletics, Athletic & Personal Development and other senior leaders across campus to ensure the holistic, integrated approach to the student development and camper experience. This role requires a passionate, empathetic leader with a strategic mindset to foster a thriving inclusive community for all students and team members to excel at IMG Academy and beyond.

Position Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy
  • Develop, lead and implement a comprehensive vision that ensures Student Life is aligned with organizational goals and provides a world-class experience, ensuring operational excellence across all aspects of student engagement
  • Lead and oversee a performance-based framework for the robust and complex Student Life team, fostering continuous improvement through key performance indicators (KPIs) and feedback to drive operational excellence and accountability
  • Oversee the recruitment and retention of a diverse, high-performing team to enhance student support services, ensuring operational efficiency and excellence in team management and service delivery
  • Lead budget planning and strategy to optimize the efficiency and impact of Student Life programs, ensuring resource allocation aligns with goals and delivers maximum value for students and team members
  • Communicate effectively with parents to proactively address student well-being, provide clear communication on policies, and alignment on events to ensure clarity and consistency in all communications to maintain operational integrity Work closely with key departments (Academics, Sport Programs, APD, Health Services, Product Ops, and Campus Safety) to ensure student health, safety, and well-being is meeting overall IMG Academy standards Collaborate with key departments to ensure the IMG Academy Student-Athlete Handbook is regularly updated with relevant and essential policies
Residential Experience & Development
  • Be actively engaged in, and highly visible with student-athlete activities, programs, and other residential life components to establish and maintain strong relationships with students, camp participants, and Student Life staff
  • Create and foster a cohesive and holistic environment for all IMG Academy students by providing the appropriate leadership and resources, inclusive of mentorship, engagement, and programming, to develop their full potential
  • Proactively develop and implement a dynamic curriculum based on emerging trends and evolving needs within Student Life, ensuring that training programs for team members are relevant, consistently updated, and timely to empower them to positively impact the lives of students and campers
  • Remain informed on the latest developments in student wellness and best practices for supporting mental and emotional health, integrating these insights into student engagement programming to enhance well-being
  • Lead high-level initiatives aimed at fostering exceptional student experience across all IMG Academy product lines (boarding school, camp, and team training and events), including the integration of innovative policies and best practices in student engagement and wellbeing
  • Oversee dormitory operations year-round, ensuring a seamless, safe, and supportive residential experience that accommodates the unique needs of both Academy and Camp programming, with a focus on consistency, structure, and holistic support 24/7
  • Create and drive dynamic programs that ignite character development, cultivate leadership, and inspire active community engagement, empowering students to thrive both personally and collectively
  • Address student concerns and conflicts while fostering a positive school culture, ensuring staff are equipped with the best practices for student care to create a supportive and harmonious environment
Student Conduct
  • Promptly and professionally respond to escalated student and/or parent concerns, ensuring timely resolution with the expectation that all Student Life team members uphold the same level of high standards in responsiveness
  • Review and implement policies and procedures that enhance staff performance and student safety
  • Work in true partnership with other departments and key individuals on campus to interpret, explain, and discipline students aligning code of conduct rules with applicable laws, codes and regulatory policies and procedures
  • Provide necessary and essential training to team members on serving as a key resource for students navigating academic, social, and emotional challenges


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Student Affairs, Education, Psychology or related field
  • Extensive leadership experience in student life, residential life or a related environment, with a strong track record of progressive responsibility
  • Experience in a boarding school or residential setting
  • Proven experience in program development, crisis management, and student wellness
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to student welfare, safety and mandatory reporting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills with a variety of audiences
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and experience implementing student success metrics to measure and enhance program effectiveness


Preferred Skills
  • Master's degree in Student Affairs, Education, Psychology or related field
  • Former collegiate athlete
  • Experience working in a globally diverse environment


Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Full-time, year-round leadership position
  • Requires evening and weekend availability for student events and emergencies
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 20lbs
  • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
