Pay Range: $92.38 - $137.65 per hour

Summary:
The Vice Provost of Student Affairs at Rush University provides leadership and oversight of the division of student affairs and manages a suite of support services, programs, policies and regulatory requirements that serve to positively impact student success across all colleges. The Vice Provost for Student Affairs (VPSA) exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. Under the supervision of the Provost, the VPSA will provide strategic and visionary management of the following areas: Offices of Accessibility, Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Diversity & Community Engagement, Student Health and Student Life and Engagement and serves as the University's liaison for the bookstore.

Required Job Qualifications:
Graduate degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a relevant field with extensive experience (7+ years) managing student development within higher education; Terminal degree (PhD, EdD) preferred
Strongly prefer experience as a leader in Student Affairs or Enrollment Management.
At least (2+ years) of experience should include direct management and oversight of two or more of the key university functions.
Strong foundational understanding of higher education accrediting agencies: Higher Learning Commission (HLC), Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE), Department of Education (ED).
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and collaborate in the broad network of RUSH
Ability to work independently with minimal direction and to work as part of a team.
Strong management and leadership development skills
Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines
Strong attention to details.
Proficient with Student Information Systems, National Student Clearinghouse, Academic Transcripts, Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Sound background in policies, regulatory requirements and student practices not limited to: AACRAO, FERPA, ADA, Title IX, Clery,

Student crisis management experience
Strategic leadership and budget management
Strong Student needs assessment experience
Experience in an academic medical center
Experience in complex University environments
8-10 years of advanced higher education management experience with significant student affairs involvement

Responsibilities:
Manages the budget and fiscal portfolio for the division of student affairs
Strengthens protocols for scholarship management, financial disbursements and assistance to students
Develops annual divisional goals and strategic plans to support the overall University student experience
Provides leadership over the University's academic registration, enrollment, and orientation functions
Routinely reviews reports to assess student engagement: LOA's, withdrawals, complaints, etc.
Safeguards student records in compliance with University and external record retention policies
Oversees all aspects of commencement ceremony and affiliated activities (ie, gradfest, brunch, etc.)
Applies comprehensive understanding of FERPA, Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, and Campus SaVE programs
Ensures institutional compliance and access with ADA, Section 504 of Rehabilitation Act and relevant laws
Serves as the centralized resource to document and triage student complaints to meet federal compliance
Proactively elicits feedback from University leaders and stakeholders to calibrate student support priorities
Performs crisis intervention to assist students and institution with navigating complex and sensitive matters
Interprets and implements student policies, regulations and procedures to ensure compliance with various local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies
Authors and publishes the University's biennial Drug Free School and Communities Act report
Serves as university leadership sponsor for the University's student governing body, Student Senate
Manages the approval and publication of the University's academic calendar process
Reviews and negotiates the student health insurance plan on an annual basis
Ensures that the University catalog is published and approved by deans, provost and president
Monitors data to ensure student vaccinations meet internal and external regulatory health requirements
Represents Rush University students' interest on a number of committees, hearings and meetings
Partners with the RUSH Wellness office to support students' mental, physical and emotional health
Leads high quality student-centric and diverse engagement experiences through co-curricular opportunities
Leverages data from surveys, assessments, focus groups, and other tools to improve student experience
Serves as a key member of the HICS team when a student emergency or crisis situation occurs
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate personnel to ensure superior support for students
