WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

  • The VMI Manager is responsible for managing vendor relationships, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring timely replenishment of products. This role involves collaboration with suppliers to forecast demand and analyze inventory performance, aiming to enhance supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction while reducing out of stocks at customer level.

Inventory Management:
  • Manage inventory levels for assigned products, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained across all divisions
  • Utilize customer systems to steadily replenish the inventory in Kroger DC's
  • Track historical data to provide seasonal and promotional planning to Inventory Control
  • Forecast demand across full generous brands portfolio for all of Kroger divisions

Customer Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Kroger to forecast demand and develop inventory replenishment strategies.
  • Cultivate relationships with Kroger to better understand customer needs and problem solve issues
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze sales data, inventory turnover rates, and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.


Order Placement:
  • Place purchase orders based on inventory needs, lead times, and supplier capabilities.
  • Personal ownership of the entire order management processes on the Generous Brands business to include:
  • Inventory management | Order editing | Delivery tracking
  • Utilize the GB internal systems across all aspects of the Kroger business


Problem Solving:
  • Address any supply chain issues, including delays or discrepancies, and develop solutions to
  • Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction
  • Provide appropriate communication to customers during times of variability within the lifecycle of an order

Cross-Functional Communication:
  • Collaborate with sales, ops, and finance teams to align inventory strategies with business goals.
  • Cleary communicate with internal business partners (including Sales, Demand Planning, etc.) any major changes in business strategy or account needs
  • Act as primary interface point with manufacturing, logistics, operations, and sales management as well as the customer(s)


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidate should possess a 4YR degree or equivalent training with 4+ years of experience in Customer Service, Vendor Management Ordering, and Forecasting.
  • Experience in Kroger System(s) and iTrade
  • Strong focus on business planning with special emphasis on exceptional end user experience


ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Kroger systems, processes, and strategy
  • Proven skills with the ability to balance multiple Divisions, assortment, and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle a high stress, multi-tasking environment
  • Natural aptitude for logical problem solving and analytical skills and strategic thinking abilities
  • Must take initiative and is proactive in a dynamic work environment
  • Works with minimal supervision
  • Must be detailed oriented, accurate, and proficient with data entry skills
  • Proficient use of English language when speaking, reading and writing
  • Must exhibit strong degree of professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft to include Excel (formulas, pivot tables and charts), Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Possess strategic thinking abilities
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills, analytical and attention to detail
