Vocational Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE: 1.Supervision and evaluation of all career technical programs (currently 17) 2.Participate in screening/interviewing applicants to Blue Hills (with Admin Team) 3.Assist in screening and hiring of all vocational staff 4.Conduct monthly department Lead teacher meetings 5.Oversight and monitoring of licensure and professional development for all vocational staff 6.Supervision of all "outside" technical projects through the department Lead Teachers 7.Supervision of all shop "businesses" (i.e. Project Accounts) 8.Develop, monitor, and control budgets for all career technical areas, including purchasing 9.Coordination of Advisory Board meetings, membership, and activities 10.Writing, implementing, and monitoring vocational grants, including the Perkins grant 11.Skills USA - Promote and monitor activities via the Chapter Advisor 12.Coordinate Exploratory program in conjunction with the Guidance Department 13.Implementation, coordination and reporting of vocational competency record keeping 14.Responsible for OSHA compliance in vocational programs; coordinate OSHA 10 hour certification 15.Attend School Committee and other district meetings as needed or directed 16.Demonstrate ability to collect, process, and analyze data to identify trends and support data-driven decision-making 17.Participate in Crisis Response team, Student Review team, and Academic Review Board 18.Pursue National Program Certifications where appropriate; coordinate Industry Recognized Credentials in conjunction with career technical programs 19.As part of the Admissions team, assist with Open House and other admissions events 20.Monitor field trips, guest speakers, and technical college recruiters for vocational programs 21.Assist in all state and federal level reviews, and NEASC preparations as necessary 22.Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as assigned by the Principal and/or the Superintendent-Director
