Cimarron is seeking a Voice Communications Engineer to support the Boeing CST-100 Starliner program at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida or in Houston, TX. The selected candidate will support our customer's Mission Critical communication environment and design, build, deploy, and administer Mission Critical Voice networks.

Position Introduction/Key Duties
Cimarron is seeking a Voice Communications Engineer to support the Boeing CST-100 Starliner program at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida or in Houston, TX. The selected candidate will support our customer's Mission Critical communication environment and design, build, deploy, and administer Mission Critical Voice networks.
Key Duties:
- Support solutions throughout the project lifecycle, including refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions/deployment plans, and providing O&M support.
- Design, configure, install, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Voice systems, networks, and communication systems.
- Author and/or maintain documentation, including DOPs, OMUG, ICDs, architectural drawings, circuit diagrams, spreadsheets, etc.
- Operate Voice communications systems, timing systems, and SATCOM systems.
- Operate and maintain situational awareness of video cameras, video switchers, and video wall displays.
- Support the Spacecraft Test Team in the production factory, Launch Team during pad operations, and Landing Recovery Team during return operations.
- Staff the control room console during tests, Mission Dress Rehearsals (MDRs), launch, and landing operations.
- Provide technical input to management and peer review teammates.

- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing.
- Knowledge of network communication concepts and principles, associated architecture with network planning, design, integration, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of end-to-end network transport technologies, systems, environments, services, protocols, performance monitoring, and diagnostic analysis.
- Knowledge of fiber optic and UTP cable infrastructures.
- Knowledge of Juniper EX series, SRX series network equipment, JUNOS, and associated protocols.
- Knowledge of Cisco Industrial Series switches and Cisco IOS.
- Familiarity with Cisco Wireless Access Points and wireless communications.
- Familiarity with SATCOM systems/RF communications.
- Experience with Linux operating systems and VM environments, Windows operating systems, and ESXi VMware environments.
- Experience with DNS implementation and operations.
- Experience implementing systems security monitoring methods, Network performance testing, SNMP monitoring, and management tools.
- Experience with Voice and Video communications systems.
- Familiar with serial communications and serial over IP systems.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and Visio.
- Comfortable with troubleshooting complex communications systems under critical time constraints.
- Familiar with NASA processes and safety procedures in the proximity of flight and non-flight GSE hardware at KSC, including payload processing areas, clean rooms, hazardous processing areas, and launch complexes.
- Proficient in physical installation of IT systems.
- Able to climb ladders.
- Able to lift 35 lbs.
- Able to work at heights.
- High School diploma or equivalent and 5 or more years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of related experience.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Experience with engineering Compunetix Mission Voice Platform
- Experience supporting multiple organizations including Integrated Product Teams (IPT), system engineers, maintenance, test engineers, and management in meeting requirements and objectives.
- Advanced expertise in Voice Communications, LANs, WANs, Wireless Networks, and microwave communication links.
- High level of expertise with Windows and Linux systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical personnel within multiple disciplines.
- Experience with managing work tasks utilizing tools, ClearQuest, JIRA, etc.
- Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of related experience.
- CCNA or JNCIA certified.
