Position Title: VP, Accounting - Americas

Location: Dallas, Texas

Your role

As the Vice President of Accounting for the Americas Region, you will lead the revenue and operations expense accounting for the company's Americas property portfolio. As a key member of our finance leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, data quality and timely reporting of financial results and implementing financial controls within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Reporting directly to the VP, Global Controller, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance and support the long-term success of our organization in the data center industry. The ideal candidate is data driven, highly inquisitive and collaborative, with a proven track record in leading high performing teams through process transformation.

What you'll do
  • Lead the revenue and operating expense accounting function for all Americas data center properties, providing strategic guidance to ensure compliance with accounting principles and corporate policies.
  • Prepare and present accurate financial analysis related to revenue performance and operational trends, including KPIs. Provide clear and detailed financial analysis and reporting to senior accounting leadership and external auditors. Ensure transparent communication of financial information to key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with revenue and expense recognition. Ensure timely reporting of any financial issues and work with leadership to resolve concerns.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team. Foster a collaborative work environment and work closely with property and operations teams and other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication regarding financial matters.
  • Develop, implement and maintain financial controls and processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies. Lead efforts to optimize processes and enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Oversee internal and external audits related to areas of responsibility, ensuring timely and accurate financial information is provided, including disclosures for audited financial statements.
  • Collaborate with VP, Global Controller and regional peers on the maintenance of global revenue recognition policies.
  • Lead transformation initiatives; identify areas for enhancement, align cross functional stakeholders and execute to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Participate in the implementation and optimization of accounting software and tools to streamline processes, reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Corporate Accounting, Finance, Legal, Treasury, and Tax teams.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Active CPA certification required.
  • 15 + years of progressive, diverse experience within dynamic, high-growth environments, with at least 5 years in a previous senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing operational accounting in a large, publicly traded company is essential. Experience in the data center or other real estate industry is highly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Ability to roll up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity to deliver required results.
  • High-level business acumen: ability to navigate complex issues affecting accounting operations (legal, tax, treasury, finance, etc.) and provide clear direction to direct reports in such matters.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functional departments and with senior leadership.
  • Expertise with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Yardi, Oracle, SAP, or similar). Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Prior software implementation experience highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of managing complex financial situations and providing strategic financial insights.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented mindset, and a high sense of urgency.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
