Role Summary:

The VP, Capital Strategies will assist the Capital Strategy team in facilitating the identification and structuring of capital to all of CPC's business lines to promote growth for CPC and impact on the communities we serve. To work with the Head of Capital Strategies, CFO and other leaders on visioning and executing CPC's appropriate capitalization structure. Build relationships and communicate with outside investors and raise CPC's brand awareness in the capital markets. Contribute to establishing the long-term strategic plan for CPC and developing short and long-term capital plans aligned with these strategic initiatives. Assist in delivering guidance and expertise to CPC executive management and its subsidiaries as well as the Capital Allocation Committee and the CPC Board of Directors as needed.

What You'll Do:
  • Responsible for working with the Capital Strategies Team and CPC leadership to ensure CPC capitalization is optimal and capital is available
  • Responsible for delivering capital to support debt and equity platforms and alignment with CPC corporate vision
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective opportunities including qualitative and quantitative analysis of investment strategy, risk, process, organization, portfolio positions and performance
  • Work with various business leaders to understand and meet the capital needs of their specific businesses to support growth of those businesses
  • Work with CPC's businesses on various project-based work, including asset dispositions and refinancings while ensuring alignment with CPC's corporate goals for capital allocation, revenue generation, and business growth
  • Work with the Finance and Capital Strategies Team to structure and create market clearing products to support impact in communities and business growth
  • Develop 3rd party communication materials (e.g. fundraising deck, ongoing investor reporting) and onboard external fund administration platforms in partnership with the business leads.
  • Assist the CPC Trading Desk as the primary CPC clearing agent for all Fannie Mae originated loans, helping to further build out the platform to encompass moving CPC paper and Ginnie Mae securities
  • Gather and assess information from internal/external sources to determine how to incorporate into financial models so pricing and structuring of CPC products reflects continued market dynamics
  • Work with CPC's legal team and outside counsel to oversee the initial drafting and eventual negotiation of agreements in partnership with the business leads.
  • Build a quality network of investment thought-leaders and managers and an ability to access those resources for sourcing, manager evaluation and reference checking purposes


Skills and Experience:
  • MBA or BA/BS in Economics, Finance, Real Estate or related field and 5+ years' experience in finance, or capital markets required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Joint and cooperative approach to problem solving
  • Strategic thinker and proficient in decision-making
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a professional manner
  • Strong skills developing and manipulating Excel models and PowerPoint presentations
  • Solid understanding of corporate structures, debt and equity financing mechanisms, and real estate strategy

This is a full-time, hybrid role where you will work from the Manhattan office two - three days a week. The salary range is $165,000 - $190,000, dependent on experience.
