PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the broad guidance of the Senior Commercial Loan Officer and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the incumbent is responsible for developing and servicing more complicated business loans typically requiring more extensive industry knowledge and a higher level of understanding of financial analysis, loan structure, collateral review, and repayment capacity. Loans include both secured and unsecured and meet established lending policies and provide maximum bank profitability while minimizing risk to the bank. Actively participates in and promotes business development activities designed to support the growth of the bank and meet individual and team loan production goals. May be responsible for training or supervising lenders with less experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

2. Sources, develops and services a variety of commercial loan clients according to established policy. Interviews loan applicants, completes loan applications and obtains necessary financial and operating statement documentation. Prepares and organizes loan file data, and performs independent analysis and judgment of credit worthiness of the prospective borrower on the basis of interviews and financial data. Presents relevant application data and loan application recommendations to senior lender and/or investment committee according to established policy. Ensures final approved rates, terms, special conditions, etc., and secures all necessary notes, pledges, and collateral when documenting the loan.
3. Undertakes activities to establish a full account relationship designed to include but not limited to deposits, indirect lending and other bank products as identified.
4. Participates in customer relationship building activities related to commercial lending and overall customer service in lending area. Regularly seeks to identify and call on a variety of commercial loan prospects and existing customers to develop or expand commercial business relationships. Takes an active interest in the business and community activities within the region to promote bank growth.
5. Assumes responsibility for the follow-up and servicing of the existing accounts by maintaining awareness of loan maturities, past due loans, financial information, etc., which could affect the status of the loan and taking the appropriate action; and maintaining frequent contact with the borrower.
6. Attends and participates in various internal committee meetings and may serve as a member of assigned committees and project teams as required.
7. Actively participates in strategic cross-functional business development initiatives and activities including joint calling partnerships designed to enhance bank business and lending opportunities across multiple lines.
8. Takes an active interest in the business and community activities within the region. Participates in local community activities or obtains membership in local organizations to promote the image of the Bank.
9. Actively promotes the larger organization, reputation, and associated product and service offerings to ensure maximum bank and affiliate customer relationships and business opportunities.
10. Satisfactorily completes all required compliance training and complies with all regulations which apply within the scope of the position.
11. Performs additional duties as requested.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable with minimal exposure to injury or other hazards with moderate level of noise. Travel on occasion to branches and departments as well as business call meetings, training, etc. Valid Driver's License and/or independent means of transportation. Overnight travel required for some conferences, some work may include evenings or weekends. Minimal physical effort required with very occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Normally seated with the freedom of movement on a regular basis; handling of light materials, supplies.

DESIRED JOB EXPERIENCE
Must have a minimum of five years Commercial Lending and/or Portfolio Management experience with demonstrated exceptional abilities and accomplishments developing sizeable commercial relationships through customers/prospects; independently negotiate comprehensive loan terms favorable to all parties; ability to present complex facility reports as demonstrated through effective loan presentations to the Investment Committee(s); demonstrated ability to fully underwrite and structure higher volume and more complex loan transactions, including larger participation loans shared with other financial institutions; demonstrated ability to accurately interpret and fully understand all associated legal documentation; experience consulting with legal counsel to determine documentation and covenants required to ensure appropriate protections for the bank; demonstrated leader in external business development achievement.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive knowledge of Bank lending practices and regulation; exceptional analytical reasoning including complex financial analysis skills; strong demonstrated leadership capabilities; prior supervisory or training experience; demonstrated initiative and independent work capabilities with ability to work as part of a larger team; strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written; broad knowledge of bank operations and prior experience collaborating across functional lines; superior time management and execution skills with the ability to prioritize; strong personal computer skills, including working knowledge of standard MS desktop applications with the ability to learn associated bank systems; intermediate to advanced spreadsheet capabilities and Jack Henry or other equivalent banking application experience is preferred.
