The Role

This role is full-time, Monday - Friday. We are a hybrid work environment with three days a week in the office (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday) with optional remote days (Wednesday, Friday). You will need to be located in the Kelowna area and be able to reliably commute into the office downtown Kelowna in the Innovation Center.

Expected start date for this role is May 1, 2025
Salary Range for this position is $180,000-200,000 per year

Your Responsibilities

As a vital member of the leadership team, you'll play a key role as a VP of Finance, leading the charge in financial strategy, forecasting, and operational efficiency, showcasing your exceptional financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and risk management expertise.
  • Overseeing financial strategy, planning, and execution to support Minga's growth.
  • Managing financial forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Providing financial analysis data and SaaS metrics for our board of directors.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and optimizing internal controls.
  • Providing insights and recommendations on revenue growth, profitability, and cost management.
  • Collaborating with leadership to drive data-driven financial decision-making.
  • Leading and mentoring one direct report, ensuring the finance function scales effectively.


Your Qualifications

Position-Specific Skills:
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in SaaS, technology, or high-growth companies.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience in revenue recognition, cost optimization, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Knowledge of cross-border tax implications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications
  • CPA designation required.
  • 8+ years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in financial planning, analysis, and strategic decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Proven ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
  • A stellar track record of financial leadership in scaling organizations.
  • Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Bonus points for experience in education, education tech, SaaS, or local government
