Job Summary:
The VP, IT Infrastructure will be responsible for overseeing and leading the technology strategy and operations for ELLKAY. This role involves managing IT infrastructure, ensuring the implementation and maintenance of IT systems and solutions, and aligning technology initiatives with the business goals of the company. The VP, IT Infrastructure, will play a key role in developing and executing strategies that improve the efficiency, security, and scalability of enterprise technology systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads and directs the strategic design, management, and implementation of an organization's enterprise infrastructure.
- Oversees implementation and maintenance of enterprise-wide system tools and ensures scalability and accessibility of applications or services.
- Establishes and approves operating policies to mitigate risk.
- Develops the policies and procedures utilized in the design and maintenance of an organization's enterprise infrastructure.
- Manages infrastructure costs by deploying cost-effective solutions, managing licenses, and identifying areas to implement process improvements
- Responsible for business application security, deployment, updates and strategic roadmap
- Construct and held responsible for 2-3 year roadmap addressing current challenges and keeping us in line with our competitors
- Required to work close with CISO to maintain and upkeep of our security standards / posture
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to define IT priorities and business objectives.
- Work with other departments to ensure IT projects meet business needs, are completed on time, and remain within budget.
- Ensure all IT operations comply with regulations, such as HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant laws.
- Implement and maintain security protocols to safeguard patient data and sensitive information.
- Develop disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to mitigate potential risks to systems and data.
- Manage a team of IT professionals, including systems administrators, network engineers, help desk and other technology specialists.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Develop and manage relationships with external vendors, technology partners, and third-party service providers.
- Negotiate contracts, manage service-level agreements (SLAs), and ensure that vendors meet performance expectations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the IT department and other internal business units.
- Oversee the integration and management of data systems, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection, storage, and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and protection standards, and drive initiatives related to data analytics and business intelligence.
- Support the development of reporting and analytics tools that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives that leverage emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and telehealth to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Management, or a related field (required).
- Master's degree in healthcare IT, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in IT management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in a healthcare IT environment.
- Proven experience managing complex IT systems, projects, and teams in the healthcare industry.
- Strong background in IT systems, compliance regulations and security protocols.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in IT infrastructure management, cloud computing, and IT solutions.
- Familiarity with data analytics platforms, business intelligence tools, and data integration technologies.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices for protecting patient data.
- Experience with vendor management, contract negotiations, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
Leadership Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience building and leading high-performing IT teams.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with senior leadership, external partners, and technical teams.
- Strategic thinker with a proven ability to drive innovation and operational improvements in a healthcare setting.
Certifications:
- IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) or healthcare-specific certifications (e.g., Certified Healthcare CIO, Certified Health IT Professional) are a plus.
