JOB SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Community & Behavioral Health is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of the organization's community & behavioral health services. This executive role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. The VP of Community & Behavioral Health collaborates with other senior leaders to integrate community & behavioral health services across the organization and drive initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and organizational performance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and implement strategic plans for community & behavioral health services, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall mission and goals.
Provide visionary leadership to drive innovation and improvement in behavioral health programs.
Oversee the daily operations of community & behavioral health services, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of care.
Manage budgets, resources, and staffing to optimize service delivery and financial performance.
Ensure all community & behavioral health services comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of care.
Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to enhance team performance and job satisfaction.
Design, implement, and evaluate community & behavioral health programs and services.
Identify and address gaps in service delivery to meet the needs of the community.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, families, staff, and community partners.
Represent the organization in public forums and advocate for community & behavioral health issues.
Develop and manage budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and financial sustainability.
Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
Oversee all grant activities, including identifying funding opportunities, writing grant proposals, and managing awarded grants.
Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting obligations.
Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement project plans consistent with grant objectives.
Maintain appropriate grant tracking and reporting systems to monitor progress and outcomes. Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of community & behavioral health programs and services.
Prepare and present reports to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Social Work, Health Care Administration, or related field and ten (10) years' experience. The experience required for management positions will be inclusive of at least seven (7) years of supervisory experience and five (5) years of senior management experience.
Positions require mastery of a professional or administrative field and advanced post-secondary education and experience. Individuals must have education and experience in applying experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods; or education and experience in making decisions or recommendations significantly changing, interpreting, or developing important public policies or programs.
Post-secondary education or experience which provides the expertise required to perform effectively the functions of the position may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctoral degree. Extensive experience in behavioral health or psychiatric healthcare, often 10+ years, with at least 5 years in a leadership or executive role.
