About being an VP of Marketing and Advancement at Easterseals Redwood:

The Vice President of Agency Advancement and Marketing develops, implements, and directs fundraising and marketing efforts to grow revenue and drive brand awareness for Easterseals Redwood and the Redwood Foundation in alignment with the strategic goals of the agency. The position oversees fundraising, marketing, communications, and volunteer management. The ability to articulate the vision of Easterseals Redwood in a bold, passionate and compelling manner is critical to success. The position requires an understanding and belief in the power of philanthropy and marketing, the ability to manage and motivate staff, set strategy, as well as a proven record of securing gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations and elevating brand awareness.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management and professional-level staff in the department.
  • Oversees the schedules and responsibilities of management-level staff in the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

Essential Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop and lead comprehensive fundraising and marketing strategy and goals in alignment with the strategic goals of the agency
  • Manage portfolio of major donors and prospects to meet fundraising goals
  • Develop relationships with and train staff, volunteers and board members in development techniques
  • Lead special events that enhance the image of the agency in the community and achieve net revenue expectations
  • Serve as the lead brand ambassador for Easterseals Redwood
  • Lead database strategies and processes and internal reporting protocols to ensure meaningful and accurate donor identification, prospect management, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and reconciliation with the finance team.
  • Supervise and hire staff/team to reach departmental objectives; including setting realistic goals, motivating, evaluating and developing staff and measuring milestones.
  • Lead marketing strategies, public relations, and communication plans for the agency and its social enterprise, Building Value, with a keen eye on growing and elevating brand awareness.
  • Lead resource and process planning for volunteer program management
  • Serve as staff liaison to board committees, including Advancement and Redwood Foundation.
  • Serve as liaison to Easterseals national to implement corporate branding, marketing, direct marketing and other initiatives
  • Integrate the entire senior management team into the organization's comprehensive development and marketing process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of related experience
