The Opportunity
This is a founding leadership role as the first VP of Sales, responsible for leading the transition from founder-led sales to a repeatable and scalable go-to-market engine. You will blend player-coach execution with strategic leadership, shaping the team, processes, and culture from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performance sales team (currently 2 SDRs, 1 AE, and 1 Practice Lead)
- Carry quota early on while coaching junior sellers through complex enterprise deals
- Define and operationalize the sales motion, including Salesforce/Apollo tooling and compensation plans
- Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to refine messaging and ICP
- Lead from the front-proactively prospect, cold call, close deals, and model the GTM behavior expected of the team
- Foster a culture rooted in integrity, ownership, and value creation
- Iterate on sales process based on market feedback and help refine product-market fit
- Partner with the CEO on strategic account engagements and large enterprise pursuits
- 7-12+ years of B2B SaaS experience, ideally in data, analytics, or AI-adjacent spaces
- Proven ability to build sales from early-stage through $5-10M+ ARR
- Experience navigating early-stage ambiguity: developing ICP, GTM strategy, and playbooks
- Comfortable carrying a bag and managing a team; hands-on leader who earns credibility through action
- Strong people leadership skills; capable of cultivating high-performance and culture
- Excellent communicator; consultative and customer-centric in approach
- Thrives in a remote-first, fast-moving, resource-constrained environment
- Prior experience selling data or AI platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Tableau)
- Played a role in launching or scaling a new GTM motion at an early- or growth-stage startup
- Exposure to PLG (product-led growth) and/or enterprise land-and-expand strategies
- Base Salary: ~$150K
- OTE: $300K+ (with performance-based upside)
- Equity: 2.5%+ equity with milestone-based kicker
- Title: VP of Sales, with future CRO track for the right candidate
- Founding team has bootstrapped to revenue with minimal dilution (95% founder-owned)
