A Brief Overview

Leads the support of new business transactions across the region, including recommending business flows. Works closely with pricing, business development, legal, and finance teams across the region to structure new business opportunities to protect RGA's interests and maximize financial outcomes across legal entities. Evaluates regulatory needs and develops relationships to support the RGA group's business model, including the use of cross-border retrocession to both internal and external companies. Align and coordinate with all areas of the company to execute and onboard transactions.

What you will do
  • Leads the support of new business transactions from the perspective of the Structured Finance department and the corporate-managed legal entities.
  • Develops and recommends business flow processes for the region within RGA.
  • Collaborates with regional business units and corporate partners (such as Tax, Legal, Valuation, Investments, and Treasury) to develop alternative approaches, structures or business flows to address tax, financing, capital or other financial and risk management.
  • Participates with business units and corporate partners (such as Tax, Legal, Valuation, Investments, and Treasury) in the pricing, execution, and on-boarding of new transactions.
  • Remains current on local developments by participating in collateral management, investment management, pricing, and other relevant forums.
  • Remains current on regulatory changes and requirements, across regional jurisdictions, to ensure compliance and obtain approvals for business flows and legal entity capital management.
  • Participate in the structuring, review, and implementation of reinsurance / retrocession transactions to support both new business and existing business flows across RGA legal entities.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Actuarial Science, Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent related work experience required
  • 10+ Years of life and health insurance industry experience required
  • 5+ Years GAAP, Statutory and tax accounting and financial reporting experience required
  • Experience in insurance/reinsurance accounting in the U.S. and internationally preferred
  • Experience with reinsurance and capital markets financing transactions preferred
  • Insurance operational experience (retail or institutional product development or knowledge of product performance, understanding of distribution channels, multiple legal entities, local regulatory view beyond the US) preferred
  • Knowledge of capital optimization strategies preferred
  • Expert knowledge of life, health, and/or annuity products. required
  • Expert knowledge of reinsurance and capital market products and industries. required
  • Expert knowledge of regulatory requirements across multiple international jurisdictions. required
  • Advanced knowledge of GAAP, Statutory, and tax accounting and financial reporting required
  • Expert ability to model reinsurance and capital structures. required
  • Expert level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills. required
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received; ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions. required
  • Expert level of skills in customer relationship management and change management. required
  • Expert ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through planning and the implementation and evaluation of programs and policies. required
  • Expert ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines. required
  • Expert persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/external customers to resolve issues/problems. preferred
  • Ability to work independently and to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects preferred
  • FSA or CPA accreditation preferred
  • CERA, CFA, PRM, or similar financial risk management designation preferred

Compensation Range:
$146,950.00 - $218,950.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
