Title: VP, Consumer and Mortgage Lending Relationship Banker

Job Summary:
The Consumer and Mortgage Lending Relationship Banker plays a vital role in assisting customers with personal banking, consumer lending, and mortgage loan solutions. This position involves developing strong client relationships, understanding financial needs, and providing tailored banking and lending products while ensuring compliance with banking regulations. This role involves business development, credit analysis, and portfolio management to drive revenue growth while ensuring customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients by understanding their financial needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and serve as a trusted financial advisor.

Consumer & Mortgage Lending:
  • Guide clients through the mortgage and consumer loan application process.
  • Evaluate financial information to recommend appropriate lending products.
  • Assist customers with home purchases, refinances, auto loans, personal loans, and credit lines.

Sales & Business Development:
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell bank products, including checking accounts, savings accounts, and credit solutions.
  • Proactively reach out to potential clients and referral sources, such as real estate agents and financial advisors.
  • Actively generate new loan opportunities and expand the bank's customer base.

  • Business development is a key part of the role, requiring outreach, relationship-building, and strategic sales efforts.


Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure all loan applications and financial transactions comply with federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of mortgage lending policies, underwriting guidelines, and industry trends.
  • Comply with all federal and state regulations and rules impacting this position, meet all risk and compliance obligations, including the completion of required training.

Portfolio Management
  • Regularly review the loan portfolio to track performance, repayment trends, and potential risks.
  • Identify loans that may require intervention, such as those approaching delinquency.
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all loans in the portfolio comply with bank policies and regulatory guidelines.


Collaboration & Teamwork:
  • Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and branch teams to facilitate seamless client experiences.
  • Participate in community outreach and networking events to expand business opportunities.


Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree (preferred) and 5+ years of lending, or other directly related experience. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

Experience: 7 years of experience in banking, mortgage lending, or financial services.
Skills: Strong interpersonal, customer relations, sales, and problem-solving skills.

Compliance: Comply with all federal and state regulations and rules impacting this position, meet all risk and compliance obligations, including the completion of required training.

Certifications: NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System) registration required.
