As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a Program Manager II - VR Content to join our Virtual Reality team, leading the development of new 360 video training content that drives meaningful, scalable training experiences.
As a Program Manager II, VR Content on the Axon VR team, you will collaborate with subject matter experts, our global sales, TASER training, and product teams to produce VR training content that helps organizations scale their training programs effectively. You will work with both internal and external development studios to bring the content vision to life, ensuring high-quality, relevant, and impactful training experiences.
You will join an interdisciplinary team that is tackling the biggest challenges in public safety training head-on, including immersive VR-based empathy and de-escalation training to help officers engage with the communities they serve with greater awareness and safety. We seek to revolutionize how training is implemented within public safety and we seek to accomplish this while abiding to the following guiding principles:

Location: Work from home as much as you like, with the flexibility to collaborate in person at our Seattle Hub when it's beneficial. Enjoy the energy of Axon's vibrant culture while working in the way that best supports your productivity. Role will include ~1 week of travel each quarter.

What You'll Do
The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 77,625 in the lowest geographic market and USD 124,200 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors. What You'll Do
- Lead project management for software and video production, ensuring all disciplines (Engineering, UX, Art, Content, Product) stay aligned on scope, schedule, and resourcing.
- Champion the content vision, acting as a key advocate for each project with internal teams and external partners.
- Develop and maintain budgets, production schedules, release plans, and risk mitigation strategies based on milestone deliverables.
- Oversee the certification process for content across web-based learning and in-VR experiences.
- Manage the localization of VR content, including audio and text translations.
- Collaborate with an extensive network of subject matter experts (SMEs) to research and define future training modules for our VR Training platforms.
- Document and communicate across the entire content development lifecycle-from concept to production to release-while contributing to content direction, learning pathways, and product documentation.
- Source, onboard, and manage external development studios, vendors, and contractors to bring content projects to life.
- Lead planning and review sessions with key stakeholders, track and report on project metrics, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
- Project management experience (PMP preferred), with a proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines, communicate with stakeholders, and mitigate risks in content production.
- At least two (2) years of experience developing training content, such as video production, training curriculum, virtual reality training, or educational media.
- BS (or higher) in Computer Science, Education Technology, Interactive Media Arts, Human-Computer Interaction or a similar discipline
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams, external vendors and executive team, managing expectations and delivering results.
- Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple projects and development partners and ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
- Interest for immersive storytelling and training content, leveraging VR or 360 video to create impactful learning experiences.
- Experience shaping training content by guiding research, learning objectives, and scenario/script development to ensure training efficiency and instructional value.
- Bonus points for experience managing and launching at least one XR/VR/AR experience.
