The Warehouse General Manager position- (West Coast Operations) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility's operations, ensuring smooth daily execution across departments while maintaining a sharp focus on cost control, process discipline, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Facility Operations
- Oversee all warehousing functions including receiving, put-away, inventory control, picking, shipping, and logistics.
- Ensure operational efficiency, accuracy, and safety throughout the warehouse.
- Build and lead the development of comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Manage inbound and outbound freight performance, costs, and carrier relationships.
- Maintain and optimize demo inventory pools for tradeshows and marketing events.
- Oversee general facility maintenance and upkeep, ensuring a clean, safe, and productive environment.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead and develop a cross-functional team including warehouse staff, quality control, customer service, field technicians, and technical repair teams.
- Directly manage the customer service and technical support teams to ensure world-class support and resolution of customer inquiries.
- Foster collaboration across teams and with corporate headquarters to ensure aligned goals and consistent service standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas.
Quality Control & Service
- Oversee product inspections and quality assurance processes at the point of receipt.
- Ensure service and repair teams meet turnaround targets and maintain technical excellence.
- Implement and enforce SOPs to enhance operational discipline and reduce variation.
Budget & Performance Management
- Own the facility's operational budget, including freight, logistics, staffing, and maintenance costs.
- Track and report KPIs related to inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, freight spend, and team performance.
- Drive operational cost savings without compromising quality or service.
People Development & Culture Building
- Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and followership across all departments.
- Set clear goals and development plans for team members.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and support to enable long-term career growth within the organization.
- Lead by example with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in facilities, operations, or warehouse management, preferably in a distribution, service, or technical support environment.
- Proven success in managing cross-functional teams with a hands-on leadership style.
- Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, and quality control.
- Demonstrated experience creating and implementing SOPs to improve operational performance.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing operational budgets and performance metrics.
- Proficiency in ERP and WMS systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in technical services or field repair operations.
- Experience managing tradeshow/demo inventory or similar environments.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
