About the Position:

Our Wargame Specialist serves as a wargame designer and facilitator, supporting the client by developing and executing strategic wargames and scenario-based exercises. In this role, Wargame Specialists will work directly with client stakeholders to shape decision-making frameworks, test strategic assumptions, and guide critical choices in complex operational environments. You will apply deep wargaming expertise to deliver clear, actionable insights that drive high-impact outcomes.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Wargame Scenario Development: Lead the design and development of wargame scenarios aligned with client objectives, serving as a lead in wargaming methodologies, military strategy, and defense operations
  • Wargame Services: Plan, coordinate, and facilitate wargames, tabletop exercises (TTXs), and similar strategic events. Identify outcomes and provide real-time feedback to support critical client decisions across classification levels
  • Client Engagement Support: Serve as a trusted advisor by supporting the development of client products, delivering timely updates, conducting retrospective analysis, and ensuring smooth operational support, including assistance with general office functions as required
  • Research & Analysis: Lead strategic research and analysis on adversary capabilities by integrating complex, multi-source intelligence. Produce high-impact briefings, RFIs, and finished intelligence products tailored to senior decision-makers
  • Stakeholder Communications: Develop and deliver clear, strategic communications that articulate wargame objectives, methodologies, findings, and implications to senior leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
  • Produce High Quality Deliverables: Prepare and present detailed reports, including post-game analysis, scenario evaluations, and recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Training & Development: Provide subject matter guidance to other wargaming colleagues
  • Trends & Innovation: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global military trends and emerging technologies to continuously enhance wargame relevance and impact

Required Qualifications:
  • Must possess an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI (other federal agency clearances considered); may be required to take polygraph after placement
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of experience in military operations, Defense and National Security wargaming
  • Deep knowledge of wargame types (matrix, tabletop, computer-assisted, etc.) and proven success in designing each type of wargame accordingly
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with demonstrated experience interfacing with senior defense and government leaders
  • Work onsite at the client location, in and around the Washington Metropolitan area, 5 days per week; occasional travel outside of the Washington, D.C. area, including outside of the continental U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • Familiarity with the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) and its mission areas.
  • Defense consulting experience
  • Experience with analytics and data systems (e.g., modeling and simulation systems)
  • Additional consulting-related education/certifications
  • Experience in briefing senior leaders and synthesizing complex data into clear narratives.

Salary Range:

The annual salary range for this position is $105,000 - $150,000.00. Your salary may vary within this range depending on a wide range of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
