POSITION OVERVIEW
In accordance with contractual requirements, the Warranty and Sustainment Administrator plans program direction and company objectives, oversees the warranty response process, acts as the primary point of contact for all warranty claims, and reviews and processes sustainment support requests from the US Coast Guard for the 47' Motor Lifeboat Program.
This customer-facing position requires professional and sound communication skills. The successful candidate will coordinate with key program team leads, subcontractors, and third parties via prompt and thorough communications, ensuring timely follow-up and compliance with required response times. Understanding material requirements planning and enterprise resource planning programs is essential to managing inventory stock for warranty repairs and callouts.
The ideal candidate is analytical, technically familiar with Marine systems such as propulsion control, steering, and turbo-charged diesel engines, and can work unsupervised while maintaining constant effective communications with various internal and external stakeholders. Routine travel may be necessary during "Surf Season" from October to February.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Effectively communicate with US Coast Guard personnel regarding the program's warranty, sustainment, and operational support per contract requirements.
Implement company and program objectives, create schedules, manage project budgets, prepare estimates, technical documents, and presentations, and identify areas of improvement related to warranty and sustainment support.
Receive, investigate, and resolve claims against the applicable warranty periods defined in the statement of work across various Marine systems and equipment.
Supports the review and maintenance of Warranty Books, Boat Information Book, and the Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) manual to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all systems and components.
Collaborates with a multifunctional team to order, stock, ship, and track Marine components for delivery and installation at various US Coast Guard stations along the Eastern and Western seaboards.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with subcontracted suppliers and material providers to ensure seamless service and support at US Coast Guard stations.
Document all work performed and report routinely to the Program Manager with regular joint updates to the US Coast Guard Program team.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
Candidate must have at least 3-5 years of project management, warranty administration, and/or sustainment services experience in shipbuilding, maritime services, logistical services, engineering, or related manufacturing/field service industry.
Strong human relations, management, and communication skills are necessary.
Technical understanding of marine systems to include but not limited to propulsion, steering, electrical, and navigational.
Proficient in MS Office applications (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint).
Experience with US Coast Guard or US Navy new construction /or sustainment and maintenance programs, buying, acquisitions, or contracting is a plus.
Project Management Institute certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) is also a plus.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, government officials and the public
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and engineered drawings.
Ability to work both independently and as an efficient team member.
