Salary Range: ~ $80,000--$105,000+ (Negotiable, DOE)
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, ~ 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Drainage Engineer to join our growing team in Orlando. In this role, you will provide hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, design innovative stormwater management solutions, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This is an excellent opportunity to lead impactful projects, mentor entry-level staff, and build client relationships in a vibrant and expanding region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of conveyance systems, cross drains, and stormwater management facilities.
  • Conduct floodplain compensation analysis to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Design and inspect best management practices for erosion and sediment control.
  • Prepare technical documents, including hydrology/drainage reports, pond siting reports, and bridge hydraulics reports.
  • Create construction plans consistent with FDOT standards.
  • Serve as Drainage Engineer of Record on projects.
  • Conduct field reviews, site visits, and project research.
  • Assist with preparing LOIs, ELOIs, and proposals.
  • Navigate permitting processes with agencies such as the South Florida and Southwest Florida Water Management Districts.
  • Communicate with review agencies to address comments and ensure timely approvals.
  • Maintain project files in accordance with company document retention guidelines.
  • Support other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
  • ~ 5+ years of experience in land development design, FDOT drainage design, or permitting.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including StormWise (formerly ICPR4).
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles for site and roadway design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads, or similar FDOT design software.
  • Skilled in preparing detailed engineering reports and technical documents.
  • Familiarity with FDOT standards and permitting processes.
