Overview

Risk Program Administrators (RPA) is a division of Gallagher providing a full -spectrum of risk management consulting services to public, private, and nonprofit entities across the United States. Though we pride ourselves on being able to tackle virtually anything in the risk management space, our core services include: self-insured program administration; alternative risk financing analysis; third-party vendor management; loss control and prevention; claims administration and insurance coverage review.

Objectives of the Role
  • Design and develop user-centric, next-generation web applications that meet client and business needs.
  • Support full-stack web development using Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, design sessions, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Build, test, and enhance software solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability.

How you'll make an impact

  • Engage in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and delivery.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code using .NET programming languages.
  • Debug, update, refactor, and improve existing software solutions to enhance functionality and performance.
  • Actively participate in Agile sprint ceremonies such as daily standups, backlog refinement, and sprint planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative software architectures and solutions.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to best practices.
  • Provide technical expertise and front-end application support, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Ensure security best practices, access control, and compliance requirements are met.
  • Document processes, features, and technical solutions to facilitate team alignment and knowledge sharing.

About You

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, including full-stack development.
  • Expertise in .NET development, including ASP.NET framework and design/architectural patterns (e.g., MVC, dependency injection).
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and front-end frameworks.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Polymer, or Backbone.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services, including deployment, configuration, and management of web applications.
  • Experience working with Umbraco or other content management systems.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and version control systems like Git.
  • Experience with Change Management software and workflows.
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
